I will be four weeks out on Tuesday. I'm on a ppi and still get the feeling that I have to burp when I eat. The puréed foods are not my favorite. I found that smaller bites and waiting a full minute between each bite help with the awkward feeling. I'm eating Greek yogurt and puréed soup for most meals right now. I cannot wait for soft foods stage.

Surgery - What to expect? :/ TMI!
DLV75 replied to HOLLAND's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It doesn't hurt coming out but it is the weirdest thing you will ever feel. Kind of like a snake wiggling around in there. When they pulled it I could instantly breath without pain. It was wonderful. I had no idea the drain was causing that shoulder pain I just assumed it was the gas until they pulled it. -
Surgery - What to expect? :/ TMI!

I had a drain that I had to go home with because I bled a lot during surgery. I had to drain and record the amount of fluid twice a day. It was in there for about 10 days. The drain was really uncomfortable and the pain from it was similar to the gas pain you get right after surgery as the gas is trying to wear off. I felt like I couldn't take a full breath in until after it had been removed. It hurt my left shoulder to breath. I think I was also more uncomfortable because they took my gall bladder at the same time. Overall I think it was pretty mild. Definitely not as bad as childbirth and completely worth it. I'm now 18 days out and feeling pretty good. A little fatigue and a little heartburn but my inscision sights are almost healed. No hunger pains but I really miss chugging ice water. Lol For me making sure my sips of liquid have been small enough has been the most difficult challenge so far. Good luck with your journey!! -
I'm two weeks post op and I think the pre-op diet has been the worst part of the whole thing. I had to lose 15 lbs in a month before the surgery so I took it seriously and I didn't cheat but by the night before surgery I was a wreck. I went in for my final weigh in and the scale at the doctors office did not match up to my home scale. The little M.A taking my weight said"Oh you've only lost a little over half of what the Dr. was asking for" Now my scales were telling me I had lost 17lbs but of course that was first thing in the morning and nude. She said she'd page the Dr. and let me know if he would cancel. I almost hulked out on her. Instead I got in my car and cried then called my husband and told him if the Dr. postponed I was going to eat a giant cheese burger and eat a sundae. I was a little irrational but that is what happens when you are starving. You gotta feed a big girl or we turn into monsters. He didn't postpone and I'm glad I didn't cheat. You can do this!!!!! It's crazy the difference the surgery makes. I have no hunger pains and I have to make myself eat and drink now instead of being a slave to my appetite. Good luck and keep up the good work!

Hi I'm Dee. I had my surgery on 03/05/2013 and have had similar results. I am also using Premier from Costco and I love it. Do you get the sensation when drinking your water or tea that it is bubbling back up into your esophagus? It's like acid reflux but almost feels like little air bubbles. It's really uncomfortable. The Dr. Told me it's from swelling but I was just curious if you had experienced the same thing? Best wishes. Dee
