  1. Happy 62nd Birthday JANS!

  2. JANS

    July 8th is my date!

Be realistic, lap band is not the answer to weight loss. It takes diet, excercise and a really good, conservative doctor. Just remember it took time to gain the weight, it will take time, effort and patience to lose it. After my band, I lost some lbs. then nothing for 6 to 8 months, until the right amount of saline in my band. I have an 11cc band and I presently have a fill at 6cc. Over the last year I have lost 30 lbs and inches and look a lot better, I read some of these postings and I found I did not fit into a big group of fast losers. It is about your health, and the future, it is about forever.
  3. Also, I was banded on June 27, by Dr. Nguyen at UCI Medical Center in Orange, calif. start weight 207 I am only at 194! I am not a big excercise person, but I am making the planned effort. Anyone have any ideas for me?
  4. How do you all make those cute little charts?
  5. mikesmom, On Sept 6 I will have my second fill, I am praying this will make my stomach small enough to fill with the one cup of food, I am getting discouraged, and want to eat more. I usually am pretty positive, so this is hard to understand, and somewhat disappointing. But lets remember time and caution prevent long term and short term medical problems, which we don't want!
  6. I think you would have to call HMR directly for info on that, all I know is I use the products and they work extremely well for me and I can take them anywhere, even in my purse, so when hunger strikes, I can make a 2 pack shake in a bottle of water and I'm happy, and can lose weight.
  7. Lisa, You should use caution that you don't become dehydrayed, and you need calories to lose weight, and good nutrition to maintain muscle (protein) so if you need a small unfill don't wait too long. I am still waiting to find my zone.
  8. You seem to be in the same weight loss range as I am. I just found out I have an 11cc band, never thought about different sizes. I had my first fill on July 26, it was 4 cc. I have not lost any weight since then. I realize I can eat more than a cup of food at a time. I called and talked to the nurse and she told me it can take 2 to 4 fills until you are in the zone. Everyone will be different. I just want to lose weight and I am also trying to stay on track, it is hard when you get that deep hunger knawing at you. Keep up the good work. I am wondering why you had lap band when you only wanted to lose less than 25 lbs?
  9. Hi, I use products you can purchase on line from Health Management Resources, the website is Intellihealth. The shakes are easy, lots of time I just tear the corner of the packet (powder) and pour it into a water bottle and shake, I like to mix a chocolate and vanilla (2 into one bottle of water) If you look thru the site you will see it is geared towards healthy weight loss and just plain good health. I use the meals also and they are great, no brainer and they have lots of suggestions. Good luck.
  10. I would suggest Health Management Resoures, Intellehealth is the distributor, it geared towards health weight reduction, is powdered protein mixed with water, and they have pre-packaged meals, easy on the go.

Thank you, this is the most imformation this site has returned to me. I appreciate your time.
  12. I am a 56 year old female, BMI 40, with approx. 75 to 80 lbs. to lose. I began to show health issues, and had no luck with diets, or no will power or dedication to excercise. After review I slected the Lapband procedure. I was banded on June 20. I had my first adjustment on July 26. I have lost 17 lbs. Since the adjustment I have not lost any weight, and do no feel as full. My weight will fluctuate up and down 5 lbs. I know I have not reached the green zone and have another appointment on Sept. 6. My doctor is Ninh Nguyen, at UCI Medical Center in Orange, Ca. I don't have a lap band web site. I am wondering how many adjustments are necessary, so that I can continue with my weight loss and feel full after only eating small portions? Why is the port just barely above my waist? Should there be any discomfort?:paranoid
