    This can happen to you!

    Beautiful! Congratulations
  2. Me too. Today I ordered a kid's baked potato and a kid's turkey sandwich from Jasons Deli. What a moron I am. I was able to eat 1/2 of the sandwich minus one piece of bread. The other half and the potato are in the refrigerator.
  3. I'm 3 weeks out and still don't have a lot of energy. I feel real good one day then take 3 naps the next day. I guess it's just a process and it varies from one person to another. They are right about adding some carbs. I kind of skipped over the puree stage for the very reason you mentioned. I just eat very slowly and chew everything to death. It basically is puree by the time I swallow it. I have tried some pizza. Chewed and chewed. It just wasn't worth the effort. There are lots of folks with a lot of experience with the sleeve on this forum. You can find some good advice. In the end just do whats best for you and treat your new tummy with respect and you'll be fine. Oh - and how I wish I had a burrito!

    Bonus surgery for sure!

Wow - that's great that you got a 2 in 1! Congratulations to you

    Sex..

Waited 2 weeks. Could have gone ahead sooner but was just too tired:)
  6. It's entirely up to you. I think you will find that most people will be supportive. There's always a few that want to gossip etc. but overall people are pretty nice. And if they don't like it - well you know what they can do.

Same as above. Dr Almanza in TJ for $4800. Haven't had any problems.

So Who's The Fat Girl Now?!

You are awesome! And those pants rule:)

    Still not seeing it...?

Nope you are not crazy. At a 20 lb loss, I have had a few comment that my face looks thinner etc. and my pants are certainly looser. When I get on the scale I no longer have to look past my stomach in order to see the numbers. And I don't see it or feel it either. I know a lady who has lost 162 lbs with a lap band. She told me that she never saw herself differently of even felt any different until she hit the 100 lb loss mark. Yippie.

    Watch the salt!

I'm having the dreaded 3 week stall! I hate it. It's very frustrating. Hopefully the scales will move soon. Being as we are able to eat so little you would think the sodium would no longer be an issue, but it is. Just ridiculous.

    1 month post op

That's great and congratulations! I'm 3 days behind you and have lost 20 lbs. Hopefully a couple more in a day or so:) Keep up the good work.

    new here

It's quite a shock isn't it - the changes and feelings that happen post op? Glad to hear you are feeling a little better:) I am 12 days ahead of you in the recovery phase. What they say about it getting better all the time is true. I have now had 2 days in a row that I felt pretty good and didn't find it necessary to take a nap. The head hunger has subsided quite a bit and I even have to make myself eat sometimes. Congratulations on making the move to have this surgery and I hope you feel better with each passing day.

at the airport! ready to go!

Good luck Mary! Be sure and round up a couple other sleevers and go shopping today. I got my kids some really cool shrunken ceramic heads:) Keep us updated and I hope you have a great surgery experience and a speedy recovery.
  14. I don't have any desire to be on a diet. I didn't choose this surgery just to be on a diet forever. I'm cautious about what I eat and introduce new things very slowly but if there is something I really want I eat it. I don't get too many calories in a given day and I can't eat very much of whatever it is I choose. But no - no diet for me. Just reasonable choices and eating the proper amount.

Wendys jr cb 3 wks out

You are not nuts and if you want the burger and can tolerate it then eat it. Obviously you should watch it as far as eating that kind of stuff because you don't want to sabotage yourself with bad habits, but you know that already. Obviously, you should follow Dr's orders. If things are going well for you otherwise as far as food intake - then I hope it was the most delicious burger you ever had:)

    6 week post op visit

Too cool! Good for you and best wishes for continued success.
  17. Insurance companies sure do suck sometimes don't they?? Good for you that you are going ahead w/o them and happy that you have the self-pay option.
  18. Agree! I really thought this would be easier than it is but I was sure wrong about that. And a frozen margarita would make me extremely happy:)

    Awesome!

    Too much food?

I want a Subway sandwich! If you are still losing weight at a pace you are comfortable with and not feeling sick I would go for it. You'll get a lot of replies about that being way too much etc. but we are all different and there shouldn't be a 'normal' that applies to every person.

    Update

You look great!! Happy for you:)

That's extremely awesome! Congratulations to you:)

    Best nsv so far!

That's too cool! Congratulations and thanks for posting that, Made me smile)
  24. Mine looked like that too. In fact, they are just now starting to heal after weeks post op. The Dr told me to use peroxide for a few days and use neosporin. I did that and now am just keeping them clean with soap and water and using a small amount of steroid cream each day. Finally getting better and aren't as sore as they were initially. Call your Dr and check, but you'll be fine.

    Its all happened so fast!

I can relate to your being nervous. I went to Mexico for surgery but from the time I called them and made the decision to go and then had the surgery was 3 weeks. In a way you might be better off. You don't have much time to sit around and over-think this thing. The odds are in your favor for a trouble free surgery and recovery. Take a deep breath, get things in order for when you return home from surgery, and get ready for your new life. You got this Starla:)
