    No energy!

Yep. It could last a while or you may perk up real soon. But the tiredness will go away. It gets better every week. Make sure you are getting vitamins and any supplements you need. I'm still tired a lot at 2 months out but I'm old and tired anyway:) Hang in there and just rest when you feel like it.
  2. Don't worry - it doesn't hurt. It feels kinda strange because we don't normally have things pulled out of our body every day but not painful. It only takes a couple of seconds to remove it and it feels so good to have it gone!

    Tmi maybe

    The Miralax works pretty well.

    Sleepy

I'm the same as MrsG. At a little over two months I have energy some days and others I still take a nap. The naps are becoming fewer though:) You are progressing just fine. Rest if you wanna!

i have to get this off my chest - part 4

Thank you so much for having enough insight and acceptance about your experiences to post them here. I'll keep reading as long as you want to keep writing.

Congratulations! Today is your big day:) I am sleeved already. I am almost 9 weeks out. Keep us posted as soon as you feel like it. I hope you have a great experience and a fast, easy recovery.

    swimming

Normally after 3-4 weeks your Dr should clear you for the pool.

    Hair :(

Oh no....so is it inevitable? I do not look forward to losing hair. Talk about adding insult to injury. I've been pumped up with vitamins, supplements, and plenty of Biotin for 6 weeks now. I sure hope it helps.
  10. I do not have an ulcer. No doctor I have seen as warned of the 100% chance of getting an ulcer. And again - not advocating smoking. Just sayin...

Congratulations! I have a friend that used Dr Nick and she has nothing but good to say about him. I'm in Mesquite. We are almost neighbors:)
  12. It's awesome, isn't it? Congratulations on the victory!
  13. Agree with TES. A massage does sound quite appealing though. I have a gift card for The Massage co. in Dallas that I got pre op. A gift. I saved it until after surgery but the first few weeks post op it was just not doable. I was swollen and the incisions would have been very uncomfortable had I tired to lay on my stomach. You may want to put it off for a couple weeks until you heal up a little. I think I will use my gift card now since you've put the idea out there:)
  14. Only my opinion, but I would not feel comfortable getting a tattoo in Mexico. Yes, yes, I did go there and let them cut me open and remove most of my stomach but be really careful with the tattoo decision anyway.

    Looking for an opinion

Yep. I had surgery with Dr Almanza on 3/8/13. These are the things that are facts - The clinic is indeed in a strip mall. The recovery rooms are in the same place except across the parking lot. You will stay in the clinic a while post op then go to recovery or the hotel, whichever is your plan. Almanza does a lot of surgeries in a day sometimes. The number will vary from day to day. You will be well taken care of from the time you arrive in San Diego. The clinic, recovery, and hotel staff are very nice and professional. They will take care of what you need. Dr Almanza will talk with you briefly before surgery. He is competent, professional, and not bad looking:) He does a good job, the price is right, and a nice guy. I had no problems at all and the rest of the people there the same time as me had no problems either. Don't worry you will be in good hands.

    Slow Weight Loss

Same as Fariethin. Sleeved on March 8 and down 25 lbs. I'm not complaining because w/out the surgery I would have lost no lbs. But it's slow. I guess slow and steady wins the race? I hope so.
  17. I don't know about binge eating, but the head hunger is an issue. Like today for example. After about 1-2 pm I am just not hungry, but I eat stuff anyway. It could be protein, or something at least moderately nutritious or it could be M&Ms. Peanut of course. Why would I eat if I'm not really hungry? Well who knows. I'm losing weight at a decent pace and certainly like seeing the scale move downward, but still battle with the food demons in my head on a daily basis. I'm sure it will be easier as more time passes but I don't know that it will ever be gone completely. Yippie.
  18. Lets not fail to mention these: What about swallowing while giving a BJ? How many of you have feminine moisture problems post op? Have I forever ruined my chances of eating a complete burger at one time? What about Thanksgiving? How do I post a pic or update my profile?

    Laura-Ven

Haha, That should send a clear msg:)
  20. Two weeks ago I pulled all the really fat clothes in a trash bag, Then I took more than half of the regular fat clothes and did the same. I dropped the bags off at a local women's shelter and went back home to discover I really have nothing to wear. At least my shoes still fit. And let me tell ya - it felt so good to get rid of the fat clothes I can hardly contain my excitement. It was a very happy day.

    Slider foods

Chocolate candy is the easiest for me. 2 Reeses peanut butter cups?? Oh no - I can eat about 6 of them. So now I have to avoid candy bars etc like the plague. Nothing else slides at all. Not even salad. I can't drink much either. I'm beginning to think my surgeon installed a time released restriction device.

    Hello 2's

You look great! Thanks for sharing the pics. Very inspirational!
  23. Mine itched too. It was awful. After 4 or 5 weeks it quit itching but I was sure miserable until then.

    post op results

Surgery March 8, So far 25 pounds down, clothes are too big, never know what size will fit when buying new clothes, people comment on weight loss sometimes, and I feel no different. Self image is a hard one. I still see the same person in the mirror and others see some change. I'll be glad to start noticing the change!

2 days post op and woza

Yep. Walking is the cure. The GasX strips never helped me at all. Just keep taking short walks and the gas will go away.
