    Tipping the drivers

I tipped the driver 5 bucks when I first arrived and then when I was going to the airport to return home I tipped him $20. He took excellent care of all the patients he was transporting and I just thought he deserved it. One lady handed him a few coins and he nearly laughed out loud:)
  6. Maybe a bit of a simplistic answer, but I've started buying the V8 splash. It's very tasty and gives you a serving of veggies/fruit with each cup. My kids even like it. Go figure. If I had bought it for them they would never touch it. But since it's mine they have decided that they would enjoy it as well.
  7. Oh no! What a nightmare that would be. Congratulations to you and hopefully the extreme stress will be over now.

    Hubby Doesnt Like Me Now

I tend to agree with the theory that he is threatened by your new body and frame of mind. I understand the unique relationship thing and I think that with the freedom he enjoys the very least he can do is be supportive and encouraging towards you. So with those thoughts in mind, I would say what an idiot you have on your hands, Good luck to him in finding a woman he does "like" that will allow him the same freedoms he has now. I'm am so sorry you are having to deal with this BS. If it were me I would do this: Tell him he just had his last chance at making you feel bad and the next tine the moron opens his stupid-a$$ mouth he can go find himself a "hot chick" to live with. And in the meantime I would really hope that the hot chicks can fulfill any needs he may have because I sure wouldn't be doing it. There;s plenty of hot guys around too. Perhaps one of them would like the opportunity to make you feel a little better:)

    popcorn.

I see nothing wrong with deserving some popcorn. If you want the popcorn have the popcorn. I had some popcorn. It was very tasty. And not only that - I had said popcorn at the movies ( waiting for mortified gasp of horror from the popcorn analysts )! It was delicious, it did not send me into a spiral into banned food hell, and I was able to recognize when I was full and put it down. Didn't gain a single ounce from my dastardly deed. Have the popcorn! Personally, I think I deserve a huge t-bone steak. Too bad I would only be able to eat 3 bites. Maybe I'll have more popcorn instead. I was able to eat 10 to12 bites of it.

    Super scared.

Well - I love Reeses peanut butter cups! Why do we eat these things? The best answer would be because they are so much easier to get down and just because we now have a sleeve for a stomach it in no way means that we have lost the urge to take comfort in the foods we choose. I'm the worst when it comes to eating candy and other bad things. In fact, I wish I had a candy bar right now. I'm slow to lose weight even before the candy enters the picture. We need to do this: quit eating the wrong things, dramatically increase the water intake, and make healthy choices instead of comforting ones. I hate water! But it really does work. I'll do it if you will!

What can I do to help you?

You said it! Amen to that and hopefully everyone will make an effort.

    How much

It depends on what kind of food I'm eating. The things that I should be eating like protein are hard to get in more than a couple bites before I'm full. If it's bad things like ice cream or chips, I can eat a lot more. Isn't that just ridiculous?? But that's how it is.

    Nauseas

Don't have regrets just yet! While I was not nauseous at 3 weeks, I can totally relate to not feeling quite like yourself. It took me 2 months to start feeling slightly normal. Some people are feeling great after a week or so but not me. I was agitated at the smallest things, mad because I couldn't eat normally like everyone else in the house, and worried that I just would not succeed in this whole ordeal. And to top it all off I discovered that I was a slow loser where weight is concerned. Yippe. BUT - sure enough it did get better and I even quit being mad about not being able to eat. I can't say that I'm happy about it now at 9 weeks but I've accepted it and am feeling normal enough to just make the best of it. I notice that I have more energy and wake up mostly happy these days. As far as eating goes I eat what I want and enjoy the few bites I can manage. Hang in there! I know it sounds like a broken record to tell you it gets better, but it really does and pretty soon you will have a smile on your pretty face

    great site

That is a good one. Eating slowly is by far my biggest challenge since getting the sleeve. I try to eat slowly but it's really hard when you've spent your entire life cramming food down as fast as you possibly can.

i have to get this off my chest - part 6

Blogs are here for that reason - we don't have to make a blog entry specifically about weight loss or anything else. A blog is where you post your personal thoughts, experiences, or anything else you want to post. Sometimes sharing your feelings is the only way you can free yourself from the "drama". That saying about how the truth will set you free - well it's true. I'm following this blog because I'm interested. Not everyone will be interested. The solution is to just not read it if the "drama" bothers you or doesn't fit your ideas regarding relevant posts.

    Question about Alcohol ????

Lol @ being super social. I've had a drink occasionally since surgery. I can't drink even half of it. I've decided the best route would be to order a shot of whatever I intend to drink and maybe an orange juice to go with it. I haven't tried it yet but since we are all curious maybe I'll try it out today and post the results:)

How do I know I'm hungry?

I am a little over 2 months out. Other than the initial head hunger, I haven't felt real hunger at all until yesterday. Since it was Mother's Day and all I went out and got my hair done, my nails done, and went shopping for a while. About 4:30 I was on my way to the grocery store and noticed that my stomach was growling. I had eaten nothing all day. It was a strange sensation. So I guess hunger does return at some point. But no worries - I went home and got some food and was only able to eat a little. I wanted more but couldn't do it. I guess the sleeve is doing it's job.
  19. Amen to that. I haven't enjoyed the emotional ride that comes after surgery. I know it's for the best and it leaves no choice but to come to terms with your life. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'm sure that most of us can relate.
  20. Happy Mother's Day ladies. Wishing all of you a wonderful day:)

Me! I'm worried too. Thank you so much for sharing about your non hair loss. I' have a bit of hope now:)
  23. No worries about your surgery. Probably not advisable to do it again but you'll be fine. Just think - pretty soon you won't be able to eat a whole pancake if you tried:)
