    how many nights ?

I stayed 1 night in Mexico. The next day flew back home from San Diego. I was pretty tired after all that but made it ok and had no issues.
  3. I'd have paid more attention to the emotional issues both before and after surgery,

    Sizes and more sizes!

Look at these 3 places: www.alloyapparel.com/ www.wetseal.com/ www.rosegal.com Inexpensive, fast shipping, always a lot of size choices. You can always find a coupon code if you look for one.
  5. I used to work for a man that in high school was the big football star, nice looking guy, got married, good job, 2 kids. Then he gained weight and never stopped gaining. He was about 350 lbs. His family member had WLS and after seeing her transformation he decided he should do it as well. First he said he didn't have the money because his insurance copay was 7500.00. I was the bookkeeper in his office so i put back money little by little ( rightfully owed to him - he was owner) and when it totaled 7500.00 I told him about it. He never made an appt,, he found reasons to change his mind, and basically did nothing. A new life for him sitting there on a silver platter and he wouldn't take it. ?? I don 't know why people make the choices they do.

  7. No don't use the ointment. I've dealt with eczema since my early 30s. I got a bunch of ridiculous suggestions from Drs too. My hands used to develop huge cracks and I'd have to bandage them up just to touch anything. I finally broke out the ex-husband's medical encyclopedias and guess what I found ( had to dig deep)?? In women the onset of eczema is common in the late 20s and early to mid 30s. Some forms of eczema are resistant to anything that comes in the form of ointment - as opposed to cream. It will in fact, get worse with ointment and most types of over the counter remedies. I changed everything I was doing and it got better! What a relief. Find the Curel Intense Healing lotion. It's excellent and controls the eczema better than anything I've ever tried. Also, ask your Dr for: Topical calcineurin inhibitors (pimecrolimus 1% and tacrolimus 0.03%, 0.1%) It's a steroid cream and you use sparingly but it will heal the worst eczema. Stress the cream - not ointment. There's my 2 cents

    Resleeve

I had Almanza. He did a great job, I've had no problems with the sleeve ( in fact he turned it into a relentless ogre - it works great) , his staff was professional and friendly, they were with me the whole time, and it cost 4500 including the flight to San Diego.

    Hi Everybody

Welcome! I don't have any experience with your issue - just wanted to say welcome aboard.

    Backed Up!

Me too. I didn't want Milk of Magnesia either. I finally got a Dulcolax at 7 days. Issue resolved.

    Water revolting anyone else?

I do. I've hated it since day 1. Something about it makes me want to hurl. If I change it from Water to tea I can drink a lot of it. No water for me please. yuck

    Lots of frustration!

When was there ever another time in your life you lost 40 pounds in 3 months? You are doing great! Don't try to rush and don't worry about stalls or anything else. Just learn to live and eat according to your new stomach size and the rest will fall in place..Be proud - you are doing just fine.
  14. @@Miss Mac lol @ chubby chaser. that was funny
  15. I like cake too much too:) You are worrying too much. It doesn't matter if it's vanity or not. Bottom line is you will be healthier, happier, and feel a lot better physically. Deciding to have the surgery is one thing. Of course do all the research you can and be very aware of the challenges you will face after surgery. If you aren't sure then I wouldn't suggest doing it. If you decide to go ahead then go for it and don't look back. It's great if you have the support of your family. Still the decision and the consequences are all yours. The benefits are all yours and the little grin you give yourself in the mirror after you drop 50 pounds or more isn't bad either. Sometimes I give myself a wink for good measure:)

You know you lost weight when

When you mention to the family that you'd like to lose 10 more pounds and your kids say Mom! You don't need to lose any more weight! And when you wake up in the morning and stretch when you get out of bed and the shorts you are wearing fall off.

    Meat 7 days out?

Haha- when I saw your question I knew right away there'd be some backlash over it. I ate some small bites of most anything I wanted after a week. You can bet your a** that some of our members here jumped all over me. So let me clarify: I do not recommend eating anything you want anytime you want. I'm just sayin what I did. I ate bites of pizza, meat, chicken, etc. 2 or 2 small bites was plenty. After 2 or 3 weeks I ate whatever I wanted. 3 days out I sucked some cheesecake off the end of a spoon and let me tell you it was delicious. It never bothered me nor did I suffer any ill effects. Just answering the question. That's it. It's been 2 years. I haven't stretched my sleeve, I didn't get a leak or stricture, and I have done pretty well.
  18. I'm about the same as McButterpants. I just eyeball it and eat what I can. I generally graze during the day and eat dinner at night. Tonight was almost half of a BBQ sandwich and about 5 Fritos. I wanted to eat more but couldn't hold it. It's been 2 years and I still cannot hold any more than I could at 6 months. It's a restriction-a-rama
  19. Something resembling dumping can happen but like the previous reply, it serves as a reminder. You are exactly right about getting your head around this thing. A sleeve is a wonderful thing but still not easy.Think of it like this: If someone were constantly reminding you not to do ( whatever ) and they never shut up, every single day they are on your back insisting that you do things their way and if not they would make you miserable. Eventually you would tire of this routine and rebel against them in a big way. The sleeve is much like this insistent individual but you cannot rebel. In fact, you asked for this thing and you will darn well do it the way the sleeve likes it or it will teach you an all new meaning of the word misery. Once you accept it and do things the way you are supposed to your sleeve will reward you with the things you wanted in the first place. Better health, mega weight loss, and a whole new life. It's a big decision and a lifelong commitment. If you are willing to commit you will reap more benefits that you imagined. Just my take on things.
  20. I just told the truth. I didn't want to really but if I was about to start losing weight at an astronomical rate I figured I'd just break the news and whoever didn't like ...well you know what they can do. People were mostly supportive, at least to my face. There were a few who gave me funny looks and I knew they gossiped about it. I didn't care though. About 6 months later those same people were staring for a different reason.
  21. You look great! Congratulations and thanks for posting the pics. Just awesome.

    Carb Attack?

Haha - I have a carb attack quite regularly. I have never counted carbs, Protein, or anything else. My weight loss has gone as expected and I've not had any ill effects from my failure to count carbs. It's too bad that bread is so filling. I love it but can only eat a few bites. Not even gonna bother to count how many carbs in 3 bites of bread.

Can I have an scramble egg

I did. Not recommending it - just saying that I had eggs after about a week, I had no problems. Couldn't eat the whole egg but the 3 bites I took were darn good.

    On our way

You got this! You'll do just fine. It won't be long until you stand up one day and your pants fall off. Best feeling in the world:)

    Driving

I drove on the 3rd day. I wasn't on any prescription pain medication and felt reasonably ok . No problems with driving.
