I loooooovvvvveee music and audiobooks, and since I'll be in the hospital for at least 24 hours I know I'll be craving some entertainment...will I be able to listen to the music on my phone while I'm in be hospital??? Is that a stupid question, lol???

Oh, was the pain really that bad?

I'm a nursing student also, and I work at a pharmacy right now. I felt the same way, I too think it's hypocritical to tell someone how to be healthy when you are 100 pounds over weight yourself!

Welp, everything is being sent off to the insurance company...fingers crossed!!!

I'm always sooooo anxious these days, I don't think i've ever wanted anything more!!! I feel like I'm always in limbo. I'm waiting for a surgery date now, then I have to wait for the surgery...blah...blah...blah!!! Just a little Monday night rant!!! Lol, how is everyone?!

So, what kind if things did u guys buy for pre-op and post op??? And what did I put in the hospital overnight bag?

Have you tried Prenatal Vitamins, "hair, skin, and nail vitamins", or Biotin?

OH...EM...GEEE!!!! I AM ADDICTED!!! Lol, (dramatic enough?) I luv the stuff, especially the Oikos coffee flavored kind, it's called "Cafe Latte" or something, the toasted coconut, and even the banana cream! Soooo yummy!!!

Does anybody use hors d'oeuvres (don't ya just wanna say horse davors?) plates after surgery?

Anyone have any good ideas for decorating a dream board? I'm not really that creative...but I really wanna make one!!!

I have not received a surgery date yet. My date will be contingent upon the psych evaluation by the psychologist. Unfortunately my appointment is not until July 25. I really want to know how long it takes for the psychologist to make his assessment and send the recommendation letter to my surgeon's office? Here's my slightly unfortunate story: I started this journey in October of last year and the surgeon's office told me that my insurance required that I had to do six months of weight loss attempts with a primary care physician (PCP), I had to had a recommendation letter from the PCP, two nutrition classes lectured by the resident nutritionist, a cardiac test, an upper GI test, and a psych evaluation by a psychologist or a psychiatrist. Since I had to wait six months anyway because of the PCP weight loss attempts, I decided to take that time to really dig deep and figure out how I got to this weight and how I can make changes to never get back her again, so I decided to work with a psychiatrist and a therapist ( both at the same office and both AWESOME. BTW). Well, I managed to get everything done, I thought....until the patient advocate at the surgeons office sent me an email saying that she received everything that was needed BUT the psychiatrist faxed her and evaluation that consisted of ONE SENTENCE. WTH? So, I called and called the office because the psychiatrist was out of the office for a week and the finally the nurse told me that my psychiatrist does not do psych evaluations for weight loss surgery and that I would have to see a psychologist instead. And now I'm back at square one...lol! My life!!!!

Has anyone ever been asked "are you big enough for that?" When u told someone about you decision??? Idky that bothers me, but it does! It's like, duh I'm big enough, I weigh 257 pounds!!!

Ok, I can't believe its getting closer to me getting a surgery date! When I started this process in October of 2012 I NEVER thought I would be having an internal meltdown, lol! *exaggerations* Well, my insurance company required that I do six months of weight loss attempts with a primary care physician and I have finished that! I finally finished that. then I had to have the psych eval, but since I had to wait a whole six months anyway, I decided to take that time to work with a psychiatrist and a therapist to get down to the bottom of the reasons I got this big in the first place and to figure out how I can live a healthy life without ever getting to this point again.. I actually enjoyed that part (you'll be surprised what you learn about yourself). well after that I had an appointment with the cardiologist and, lo and behold, he found a slight heart murmur, which just means that he could actually hear the blood flowing in and out of my heart. so I had to have another appointment to check to see if it was life threatening or not. THANK GOD IT WASN'T!!! THANG GOD AND HIS MIRACLES!!! LOL, but the actual point of this story is that now that I am finished with everything Im kinda freaking out internally and idk why!? all Im waiting for is a clearance letter from my psychiatrist and an insurance approval. I was doing so good for the past few months and now im really anxious a lot. Is this normal??? I mean its not like im having the surgery tomorrow. why am I subconsciously freaking out. I don't sleep very well, im always eating and overthinking everything. and there are no problems in my life right now, well except for my online classes, but the classed aren't that hard. the only thing I can attribute my anxiety to is the up coming surgery and whether or not im actually going to have it and when. Some one please help!!!!

Is it ok to do any of these exercises a couple months after getting sleeved?!?!

Is it ok to take appetite suppressants while on the pre-op diet???
