While I'm finishing up on doc appointments, procedures and insurance I've been thinking of what the most difficult part of this journey will be. I think the most difficult part for me once its all done and I'm recovering will be the chewing my food until its almost liquid. I'm a chew couple times, swallow whole type of person. So I was wondering what has been the hardest part to deal with as you are becoming more used to your new life style?

7 Months Post Op and down 126 pounds

Congrats on your weight loss. I can't wait for surgery. As for this people that give you negative feedback they need to take a look in the mirror. Just because you now are confident and have higher self esteem (I'm assuming you had low before. I apologize if I'm wrong) doesn't mean they should make you feel like crap. The people I've told about having the surgery I've said until you have lived a week in my body, you can't tell me what to do with it. You Go!!! Loose away! And then have the most beautiful baby and rub it in their faces :-) -

Congrats!! You look GREAT!!! -
Before surgery did anyone have a chronic or really bad sweating problem??? I can't seem to no sweat. Hot, cold, moving, not moving. It's horrible. I'm always hot too. Just wondering if this could go away after surgery? Cause I would LOVE to be cold all the time.

Silly question really

My thinner friends think I'm crazy saying I can't wait to be cold all the time. But they also know that I hate being hot and looking like it just ran a marathon and all I did was walk three steps. This is welcome news and yet another thing that makes me even more excited to have this surgery done. -
Looking great. Thanks for posting. Makes me even more excited to get the surgery and posting my before and after pictures.

How do you deal with sabotage and negativity from others?
flyme_places replied to DecoGirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That's Judy's horrible coming from a doctor at One of the worlds most respected medical institutes. I have a friend who works at Mayo and when I decided to tell her that I decided to start the process of getting the surgery done I was afraid she'd put in her medical hat and do the same thing. Luckily she didn't. She is 100% supportive. I haven't gotten mine done yet but I do have a small group at work that know and are behind me 100%. I'd say most definitely get a new doctor cause they are supposed to help not harm you. Best of luck and I hope you have mug more weight loss. -
Just had my first appointment

That's weird cause I have BCBS also and they only want 3 months. Maybe it's a different plan. My BMI is well over 50 which really made me think "what was I thinking!!" But I'm super excited to get going on this journey. I have my second doctors appointment next week and then nutrition on the 17th. I'm wondering how the psychologist exam goes. Well beat of luck to you on your journey :-) -
Had my first appointment with my surgeon today. Super excited. Now I have to do a 3 month supervised weight loss (required by my insurance) I have a feeling it going to be the looongest 3 month of my life. I'm just really excited with this change in my life. I've (like soo many) struggled with my weight all my life. Up, down, up and up and up. It's never really bothered me too much but within the past year and a half it's been bothering me. I think I'm just over it. I want the real me to come out. Instead of being the funny fat girl I want to be the silly skinny girl. I want to be able to run with my son and play with him. I'm just ready to be happy :-)

Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?

I am just starting the process and go see my surgeon on Wednesday. I have decided to start running/walking to get my body ready for what's to come. How long post surgery do I have to wait to get back into exercising??? I have a great support group at work who are giving me all kinda if advice in how to start in my walking/running goals. -
I'm soo happy I found this. I just started the process. I got for my first appointment with my surgeon next Wednesday and my husband decided he would leave work early to go with me. He tells me he's supportive but I have a feeling that he's worried. I know he's worried about the whole surgery just because its surgery but also the after. In a way I am too. To hear all your stories makes me want to make sure we are really "OK" with what I'm doing. When we met I was over weight (not like I am now), we got married, had a son and I'm still over weight. He has always been there for me when I've decided to try the latest and greatest weight loss products. I know he would like for me to lose weight but I don't think he ever thought I would actually do this. He has never told me to lose weight just that he wants me healthy. All I know is that I'm doing this for me family. I want to be healthy, I want to be able to run around with my son without feeling like I'm about to pass out. I want to feel pretty. And I don't want to feel like I always have to be the funny fat chick where ever I go. I want to be the funny skinny chick :-)

Hello everyone, This is my first time on here. I have begun my journey to a healthier me. My first appointment with my surgeon is on march 27th. I am super excited.
