I hate skinny Beotchs
flyme_places replied to LI Gemini NY's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know what you mean. I have a coworker (love her to death) that is a size two and complains that her tummy is getting bigger. I look at her and tell her until your stomach is as big as mine you have NO right to complain. She is super excited for me and really supportive. I can't wait to take a pic next to her. We will be two skinny B's together :-) I already told her she's going to be in my pre op pic and then once every two weeks pics to show the progress. -
July sleevers! Are we ready!
flyme_places replied to shannyd4's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
July 19th for me. I have NO idea what to take to the hospital or what to get for when I get home. I go for my pre op appointment on the 10th. Soo excited and scared at the same time. Can't wait to get healthy, thinner and be cold. :-) -
So I have surgery on the 19th of July. Did great with the supervised weight loss. Lost 10ish pounds. But had a slight issue and fell off the wagon for the past three weeks. Now I have my pre op appointment on the 10th should I try to get those pounds off again or not worry about it??? I'm worried they will say something. I might as ell just put myself on a semi liquid diet to prepare myself right?

So got my approval letter from the insurance yesterday. And today got "THE CALL" from my surgeon that everything is looking good and to schedule my pre-op appointment and surgery date! So I'm scheduled for surgery on the 19th of JULY!!!!! 17 days away. I don't know whether to be happy, excited, scared, nervous, anxious. I'm everything! I can't stop smiling. On my way to a happier, healthier me. -
Called my insurance company today to check on the status of my case and was given the best news. I've been approved!!!!! OMG!!! I never thought I'd be soo happy. Called my surgeons office and they said they hadn't heard anything but will call me ASAP when they eat the green light. I don't know why they (the insurance company) calls when you get denied but when it's approved they send a letter snail mail. But anyways I'm excited and can't wait to schedule my surgery :-)

I had time set aside in August from work so I'm hoping they will give me a date then. I know it's going to be here before I know it. I could probably do it sooner but we have soo many things going on in July that waiting would be best. Thanks everyone. I want to shout it from the rooftops but ill wait till I have an actual date:-) looking forward to being healthier and cold. -
So I've had a slight set back. My surgeon sent in my paper work 3.5 weeks ago. Haven't heard anything. With advice from you great people on here I called the insurance company to see what was going on. So long story short they sent in my paper work with the right code for the sleeve but the review board reviewed it under the band. They denied my case due to my policy, contacted my surgeon and that was all within 4 days of them sending it in. Fast forward to yesterday. No one has contacted me to let me know this had happened (really pissed at that). The lady at the insurance company was GREAT. She looked at my stuff and told me they reviewed it under the wrong procedure (she fixes it), they didn't really read my policy to see that the sleeve is covered (she wrote a note about that in my paper work) and she resubmitted it with all the CORRECT information while I was in the phone with her. Thank GOD she picked up the phone. I have a feeling that if it was someone else they would've have done all that. Hopefully by next week I should have some more news. Fingers crossed.

Waiting for Insurance Approval - Let the journey begin
flyme_places replied to faifie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have BCBS in Fl thru my husbands employer and its been two weeks since my paperwork was submitted. Others on here said they waited three weeks for approval from BCBS. There was one person who said she waited 8 months. I pray to God I don't have to wait that long. I'm ready to change my life for the better. Can't wait to feel better emotionally, physically and mentally. Good luck and I pray you don't have to wait long either. -

I have BCBS in Fl and it will be two weeks tomorrow since they submitted my paperwork. I'm super excited to start my new, healthier life. -
how do you keep this a secret?
flyme_places replied to miangr's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I've told some people at work. Mostly the ones who I know would be supportive. I told my supervisor who is an Isegenix (sp?) freak and she was trying to get me on that. Does she NOT understand that too is a weight loss fad?? Anyways. Once I have the surgery and people start to notice in incredible shrinking woman then I will tell them what I did. If they don't like it, it's not my problem. At least I knew I had a problem and this is the only way I can fix it. On a side note I hope my surgeons office calls me soon that I have been approved by my insurance. -

You look AWESOME!!!! I'm still waiting for insurance approval. Looking at your pics makes me super excited about getting the sleeve done. Can't wait to go shopping and instead of having four shirts and two pair of jeans, I will have a closet full of clothes I enjoy to wear. :-) -

Hi Sammantha, My name is Carolina, 32 years old and from the Jacksonville, FL area. So we are almost neighbors :-) my paperwork was submitted this week. Just waiting on the approval. I'm sooo anxious for them to get back to me. -
Was just wondering how long people had to wait to hear back from their insurance?? I'm not in too much of a hurry to get approval since I was planning on taking time off of work for my surgery (in August. Didn't know it would be this fast).

I went to my PCP today to get a letter required from my insurance to say that she believes the sleeve will help me greatly in weightless. I had gone 6 weeks ago to get the letter but she wanted me to lose weight first so she could see I could do it. So it helped that I was doing my medically supervised weight loss (also required by my insurance) and come to find out I've lost 10 pounds in 6 weeks! Which for me I awesome. So today she has the nerve to tell me I should hold off surgery and continue eating healthy and lose weight that way. It made me soo mad. I have been seeing this doctor for the past 8 years. She knows my history of weight issues. (Not to mentions she is overweight also) I would think that a medical professional would applaud someone who is taking action and wanting to stop this craziness. So now she wants me to continue eating well so I can get used to it then go back and see her in 6 weeks. I can't wait 6 more weeks. I need the letter so my surgeon can send my stuff for approval. I don't know what to do. I have a appointment with my surgeon tomorrow, maybe I can get someone from the office to call and have her write it. Sorry to cent just had to get it out.
-
I did and he said to wait a couple more days to see if she writes the letter for me if not he's going to call her personally and talk to her. Also he said I could get a letter from my GYN. They are going to submit my paperwork either tomorrow or Thursday with or with out the letter just to get the ball rolling.

On a completely different subject where do I find this "ticker" everyone talks about??? I have an iPhone so I don't know if I have to get online to get your started.

That's awesome. Makes me excited to read people's success stories. My paper work is getting submitted on Friday so now it's time to play the waiting game :-( -
Thanks everyone. I'm going to ask my surgeon tomorrow what he thinks I should do. My husband said the same thing about going to another doctor. But I was sooo mad this morning I almost went to McDonalds and got 5 hashbrowns but I didn't cause I knew that would send me over and once that's happens there is no going back .
