Gettin' sleeved tomorrow!
123Go replied to PatriotsFan28's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all, it's now Tuesday morning adelaide time and I was sleeved yesterday arvo. All went well, thankfully they gave me a preop cocktail to calm my nerves. Some pain last night when the nurses took ages to bring more pain relief but all good now. No nausea so far. Jus saw the doc he said I had a lot of scarring from my previous lap band but he's taken as much of my stomach as he could. Now it's just rest, sip, rest, sip. So far it's been no where near as bad as I was expecting! Hope my fellow 20th may sleevers are doing well -
Hun you don't look pathetic!! I saw it but I'm just not ready to share my fat pics until I've got a fabulous 'after' photo to put next to it... Hopefully in a few months

It's gone fast hey, can't believe it's in less than a week! Lost 6.3 kilos (nearly 14 pounds) so far and my jeans fit so much better already! How are you all going?

Hi Robyn, I'm having mine on the 20th I know what you mean. We will be fine though! I feel like time goes so fast and I know the surgery will be a distant memory before I know it! Good luck to you

Hey, I don't know about the "doing it all at once" thing but I had been told that because I've had the band before I might not lose as much weight... But I've seen some really great results on here of people who revised from lap band. I'm just taking it with a grain of salt- I figure if I follow the rules why wouldn't I lose just as much? Best of luck to you :)I'm getting sleeved on the 20th, yay!

Good luck mate! I'm sure you'll do great -
Enjoy it lovely ladies! I've been on the pre op diet for 3 weeks now, I've lost 3.5kgs, so I'm pretty happy with that, but man o man it's been hard at times. I've had a couple of meals in that time where I didn't follow it exact (a wedding and a lunch) but still picked a relatively healthy choice. 2 weeks to go!!!!! Yeah!! Yeah!!! Yeah!!!

11 Year Old Lapband...has anyone else had one this long and been revised?
123Go replied to Sleevestriss's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had a band for 7 and a half years... started having a lot of trouble with reflux and vomiting at about year 4 but put up with it because i was scared to have it taken out (i had lost nearly 40 kilos).... but then i started gaining weight anyway because it always had to be unfilled to try and settle the reflux. So last year i decided to revise to a sleeve. I had the band removed in November - lucky i did too because it had slipped and 'was a mess' (the words of my surgeon that removed it). Ive been waiting since then for my stomach to heal and will be sleeved in just over 2 weeks. Ive regained a lot of weight but let me tell you - having that band out was like a huge sigh of relief! My doc seems confident that the healing time will reduce the risks significantly, considering how mangled my stomach was, but maybe thats just his process - I see lots of people on here that do the revision in one step and have great recovery and results. Im scared still but excited at the same time. Best of luck -
