Hair loss after bariatric surgery has everything to do with the anesthesia and the surgery. We have depleted our bodies of so much at the beginning and put so many foreign chemicals that after surgery you hair and nails pay the price. The keratin straighter s are not to harmful so try it out, also Keratin is more restorative than damaging but remember in coloring or straighten we are opening and closing the cuticle of your hair so that always no matter what causes a little damage. I am a stylist and 4 weeks out of surgery and today was the first time I noticed a large amount of hair and I can tell you it is because I have been so sick and not getting my protein The main important things are protein, a shampoo like Nixon to get the scalp and follicles cleansed, water and vitamins. Everything is trail and error if you notice your hair isn't handling it the same I would stop.

I have been doing hair for 13 years. Ladies YES you can color and highlight it Will help look fuller. Also we all men and women need to use a shampoo and conditioner call Nixon. It clears the scalp from tons of the impurities and anesthesia from ur follicles and then after the shower add a the treatment to ur scalp. Other important things is get tons of protien and use vitamins that promote hair growth. If you need any advice please in box, I love what I do and would love to give help with something I know tons about.

I slept on my side immediately, in recovery I was on my side the whole time and I was there for 8 hours. I used pillows behind my back for support. I was also could lay on my stomach no problem but when I told the dr. that he said absolutely not for at least 4 weeks, we would talk about it at my 30 day follow up.

I am on week 2 of my pre op diet and I am also so nervous my surgery is Friday. One thing I will tell you about the scope is, it has been one of the easiest things I have done so far. I was fine no numbing my throat was a little scratchy but that was all. Just prepare mentally for this pre op diet I hate every minute of it. I will be thinking and praying for you ChristieK
