Surgery - What to expect? :/ TMI!
Luvinkk replied to HOLLAND's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have a drain. I did have my stomach stapled internally. I had per my doc stock some gas x strips. I had zofran subligual tabs for nausea. Pain was minimal. Went home in 28 hrs. I am now a few days short of one month post op. I want solid foods. My Dr. Was Andre Graham at Baylor in Dallas Texas. His office is staff with individuals that have had some form of WLS. The support was and is fantastic.. -

Did you go to x ray and drink gastrin. If so you had a leak test. I would be concern and be pro active and call him and ask. -

Be careful with protein shots some have collagen in them which inhibits weight loss. I liked soy proteins vanilla that way I could change the flavor with extracts. My fav extracts were the coconut, mint, rum, orange. Just to name a few.. -

Hi everyone I had my sleeve on February 25, I am down 22 lbs. This has been a move to better myself. Health wise this is a. + + for me. My only problem so far is learning to drink slow I have always been a water glupper. My doctor said Tuesday March 26 I can have my first solids any suggestions. :-P -
I don't regret it I use muscle milk only 2grams sugar per serving. I found also soy protein even easier to mix. I use the vanilla and all types of flavor extracts, orange, peppermint, rum, ect. Or a small amt. Sugar free jello for a variety like key lime. It helps. I have no regrets 3.5 Weeks. Already cut med doses in half that is so exciting. And being diabetic and a times 2 heart attack person this has helped so much.

If you use fmla remember this paper work is good for 12 weeks in the whole year. So if complications occur from this you will still be covered by fmla.
