Talking about what comes out the other end
SkinnyScrapper replied to Brighteyes's topic in The Gals' Room
Pills are hard to swallow and dissolve differently post-op. I had to meet with my PCP post op and go through all my meds. For example, time release pills do not work properly with the sleeve. I also had to crush any pills that were too large. This is why benefibre or Miralax may be better post op. I would discuss with your doctor now so you can be prepared. -
Thanks, Ladies ..thanks for your replies. I guess I thought I would be done ... But maybe more time....

I love Beans and have read that manysleevers eat them post op in soft phase. They have so many carbs though. Even when you subtract out the Fiber the carbs are usually high 20, 30 or mor grams. Is this ok?

I am sorry he does not understand. Is it possible to take him with you to a dr. or nutritionist appt. My husband was against the surgery until our family doctor spoke to him about how I needed it. Change is hard for others. Keep up your good work and once you are at goal, hopefully it will be easier. -

Almost passed out and hungry
SkinnyScrapper posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 5 weeks post op. Over this past week I have been trying to exercise every day. I was taking 20 minute walks, but Tuesday I swam for about 30 minutes and last night I took a Zumba class for 50 minutes. I felt fine after each one but I was tired. Today I have been super hungry. This is the first time I felt this way. Never really felt hungry, but today I feel starved. I had 3 oz cottage cheese and 2 eggs this morning. I went out to the store and I broke into a cold sweat, felt hungry and super tired .... Felt like I might pass out. I came home and ate some yogurt and slept. I feel better but still hungry! I don't know if I can continue on 600-800 calories a day and exercise and feeling hungry. Has anyone else felt this? Do I need to slow down a little? I haven't exercised today and I am bumbed. Could it be dehydration? -

July sleevers please check in..
SkinnyScrapper replied to shannyd4's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
July 17 I was sleeved. Have lost about 30 lbs - about 4 Pre-op. it doesn't really show yet. I guess it is because I have 100+ to drop. I went shopping with my daughter last week and it willbe a long time before I am in "normal" clothes. Slow and steady...every day is progress. I keep telling myself how much work it is to drop 30 lbs! -

Ditto for me! -
Hi all...I am two weeks post op and some times during the day I just want to cry. I haven't really had a good cry, just weepy. Not sure why. Also, my sister-in-law came over and gave me a box of chocolates for when I "reach the solids stage". Really? I was upset at first, but now just want to laugh. I was wacky the entire time they were over. Let me know if there is anything that helps. I found a walk helped that day.
