I hated the mirena as well. I was on the pill which I was actually enjoying. I recently stopped because I had skin removed. I plan on going back on it soon. As a teenager I used depo (the shot)

Plastics: Before & After (post your pics here!)
lovexciaral replied to NewSetOfCurves's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Two weeks post op today and finally back home. Had my surgery out of town and had to stay for a couple of appointments. Has anyone else's dr had them just go purchase spanx rather than providing a compression garment? -

I've been meaning to update but times are been crazy lately. I finished my first semester of nursing school with all B's. My highest was an 88 med-surg. I'm eager for the next semester to begin but trying to enjoy the summer as well. I haven't weighed myself since around may 30th, but I've lost 1390 pounds. I had a "panniculectomy" on June 10th. But my surgeon is amazing and did the whole area minus the muscles as well as moved my belly button. I will post pictures upon request. Things are going quite well. Healing hasn't been too bad. I'm walking mostly upright now. Before I started nursing school, I got divorced which is one of the best decisions I could've made. Although we share two small children, it has been best for them as well. Sorry for the lengthy post. Just wanted to update for my fellow nursing sleevers. -
I have BCBS fep (I'm in Texas as well) and my dr took pictures and write a letter saying it was medically necessary. Around two weeks later it was approved. I searched for a doctor who was willing to do the belly button as well. I'm 25 and wasn't willing to have a stomach even more deformed. I'm glad I did because i found a very trustworthy surgeon who I will be going back to for my other procedures.

India- The pain is bad, but not terrible. It's getting up that's the worst. Technically it is my belly button. It's just moved. If doesn't feel any different at all.
-
It depends on your surgeon and how the condition of your muscles are. The surgeon I had initially chosen was literally only going to remove the excess skin under my belly button and not move the belly button or do anything to the stop. I found a different (amazing) surgeon who did the belly button and basically a tummy tuck without muscle repair. All covered by insurance so far. I'm only four days post op so this isn't a final look by any means. The picture was actually at 3 days post. You can kind of see how it was before. The before ones were taken May 1st.

I know that this question has been practically beat to DEATH, but here we go again. If you have Blue Cross Blue Shield FEP and you were approved for any sort of plastic procedure, what was covered? How much did you end up paying out of pocket? I found out that my surgeons office got an approval, but I'm not sure exactly what will be covered yet. Thanks!
