I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)

Here is my before shot and after shot. My one year mark is this Friday, March 7th. I have lost over 100 pounds. I was a size 22, now I'm down to a size 2,3. I feel great. I work out almost every day and I thank God every day for this surgery.

I'm so glad to hear every one is doing so well. My pre-surgery weight was 215. I was sleeved on 3/7 and I'm down to 163 lbs. I watch what I eat but exercise seems to be key for me. I exercise about 6-7 days a week. But some times if I feel the urge for some ice cream I do have a little to get over the craving and then I'm satisfied. Or some times I may eat a piece I fruit to satisfy my sweet tooth. I think we are all doing a great job and we will all get there eventually.
  6. Hello everyone, my name is Alicia and I had my VGS surgery on March 7 2013 so I just completed my 2nd week. So far I have lost twenty pounds. I am very excited and feel truly blessed with this surgery. I decided to post because I don't know any one that has had the sleeve besides me and I would like to hear from others about their experiences (I would also like to share mines also) My sister and one of my best friends had the gastric bypass but I'm finding that their experiences are different than mine. I'm still on my high liquid protein/puree stage of the diet and will be on that until April 11th. I'm looking forward to getting to know every one better. I do have a few questions and I would really appreciate it if any one can share their experiences. Do any of you still have food cravings? I know it's head hunger lol. I don't have any hunger pains or anything during my cravings. I'm just making sure I'm not going crazy still craving foods. Also has any one had any issues with being lactose intolerant? My RD told me not to worry about that because most sleeve patients don't become lactose intolerant. I'm starting to think that's not the case with me. I become very gassy and bloated when I drink any protein shake milk. . . even nonfat pudding. I also have been getting headaches for the past two days. I do a lot of walking and I'm wondering if I'm not getting enough fuel in my body. Also some times I feel full and then other times I can drink a protein shake or have a pudding and an hour later my body or maybe it's my head, is telling me that I need more fuel in my body. One last thing and I hope it's not to much TMI, in the beginning is it normal not to have a bowel movement for a few days. I think I'm freaking out more about this than anything. Thank you for taking the time to read my post and again I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better.
  7. Hello every one, I had my surgery on March 7th and I'm looking for some recipe ideas for my high protein liquid diet. I was on clear liquids for a week after my surgery and then moved to the high protein liquid diet and will be on that until April 11th. I found out that my stomach can no longer tolerate milk at this point so I'm left with broth, veggie and bean soups (pureed) and mashed sweet potatos. I can also do oatmeal and cream of wheat. Yogurt and pudding upset my stomach due to the dairy. Just looking for any ideas. I have a couple more weeks left on this diet and I'm kind of getting tired of drinking Unjury chicken broth protein shakes all of the time. Thanks.
  8. Sounds like water weight to me.

    Water and Heartburn

OMG yes. I take Prevacid when I first get up with some water and I get the worst heart burn but it goes away after a few minutes.

I love milk too but it has upset my stomach so bad that I'm back to clear liquids. Just thinking about eating/drinking anything besides clear liquids makes me sick to my stomach. I hope you get to drink milk again

Hello every one, I had my surgery on March 7th and the Unjury chicken broth protein has been my saving grace. It seems I have developed an intolerance to milk since my surgery and I can't stomach anything with milk. . .just the thought of any milk products makes me sick which sucks because I use to love milk. But oh well. . .if I have to lose milk to my journey to a healthier me. . then so be it.

    Hungry

I'm right there too but think it's head hunger plus gas. I had my surgery on March 7th. I believe I have become lactose intolerant after the surgery so I'm moving from milk and trying soy milk or lactaid. Honestly I'd rather not have any thing that that is milk like because that's how bad milk has made me sick. Yuck yuck yuck. I too always think I feel hungry but when I take time and feel out my body. . .I know it sounds strange but I actually connect with myself and I'm like are those hunger pains or is my mind telling me that I'm hungry. When my body needs fuel, I can tell the difference. It's strange and I wish I could tell you how it feels but it feels different from cravings vs my body needs some fuel. Best of luck and hang in there. When I get that feeling that I'm always hungry. . .I drink some plain water or crystal light.

    Introduction - Hello every one

Thank you. I thought I was doing something wrong. Even though I'm following the diet. The thought of drinking milk makes my stomach turn and I use to love milk lol. I find it easier to get the protein down when I drink the Unjury chicken broth. It takes me forever to drink any that are mixed with milk. It's hard enough getting a 16.9 oz of water down. Feels like my stomach just can't fit it all.
