  1. In the before pic you are very attractive. In the after you're just plain HOT.
  2. You look like the first pic's daughter.

    help me understand...

For me it was the fact that I would only fit so much food into my sleeve and if I tried to fit more, I'd regret it painfully. Plus with only a limited availability of food if I chose the wrong types (like low in protein) my body would suffer. I'd become weak and tired and sickly. So I use that limited space to put the optimum items I can find following the WLS mantra. To simplify, I have no choice anymore. (which is exactly what I needed because mine were all wrong.)

    after surgery

Hey, if the walking isn't cutting it for ya gas wise......no matter, it's the best thing for DVT (clots) prevention anyway. Another little trick I used for gas. I have a adjustable bed, so I raise the feet and turn on the vibrator. Works great.

    after surgery

Same for me. For some reason I found I could relieve the gas easier when I was laying prone on the couch watching TV.

If your up to it, here is YouTube video of the Robotic surgery.

    da Vinci

Yep, I watched a video of my Surgeon using the DaVinci for the sleeve. Really cool. He said it's much more precise and provides more range and no fatigue to surgeon. Also the advantage of 3D view. He did the sleeve and both a heital and umbilical hernia repair on me. Went perfectly.

    lovenox

I've had many surgeries and Lovenox is pretty standard post-op. I did it twice a day for 7 days, the same as you did. As said above, not a big deal for the peace of mind of clot prevention.

    One day OMG!

Good luck tomorrow. Think pleasant thoughts and try to relax. Your gonna be home in a flash wondering if anything actually took place. The only proof will be the pounds dropping off. Yay.
  11. They loaded you up on fluids and stuff in the hospital, so a few days of lax intake isn't gonna harm you. When you drink, you take in air with the fluids and the air (gas) is what is probably causing you the pain. You'll get better at it and the swelling will subside and things will get easier. Sit back and enjoy the ride. Watching the weight drop is such a pleasure.

    Plane after Mexico

Check with your PCP beforehand. Or if you have a Cardiologist, they might have a different opinion. My Cardiologist is the one that both prescribed and monitored my taking Lovenox and when to resume other medications after my surgery. (over riding my Surgeons orders) Walking is the best deterrent for DVTs. It's not only about if you might have a clot, but how a clot might affect you specifically. Some it could be the lungs, others the heart, or even the legs. Prevention is not uniform. Ask your docs about your specific needs.

Lying about Weight Loss Surgery !

I can't believe this post is still going. All this controversy and I'm not involved. I can't have that, I must get my two cents in. Just yesterday the news was blasting all day about it being partly cloudy here. And there is just no way that is true. It was most certainly partly sunny. Nuff said.

    Cardiologist Appt.

Don't fret the Cardiologist. Embrace it. Like you said, it's the only heart you have and it has a sneaky tendency of causing problems rather sudden and unexpectedly. A while back, I had a heart attack right out of the blue and when I was the lightest & fittest I'd been in 10 years. My Cardiologist saved my life and since then, she is voice that I consider above all others.

    New at this

careful with the puree. I really didn't have any restriction it seemed with the full liquids stage. Been a couple of days on puree and I certainly know my sleeve's limits now. Don't confuse puree as similar to liquids. It fills the pouch and moves slowly on thru. Eat slow and small bites and stop at any sign of feeling a little blocked or pressure type pain in the chest. Your full. For me it was about 3.5 oz. Four was too much. You try that extra bite, you're gonna hurt.

    Difference b/w men and women

Surgery on Tuesday and eating what.....????? He should be on fluids only. I don't really see being able to eat more as a better thing. After all, restriction is what a sleeve is all about.
  18. If you were driving him back and forth, then you used a car. So not being able to drive.......wouldn't it be reasonable to assume you don't need the car your're using to drive him to the station. Let him drive himself and leave it at the station. Just bustin your chops......far as I know narcotics (pain meds) is the only restriction. I drove home from the hospital.

    new joint pain

Barring any injuries to your joints, (which being obese could easily do) my guess would be that at your heavier weight, you moved around a whole lot less. Your body is just taking some time to get used to things moving and stretching again. Give it time.
  20. PDXman said it perfectly. It doesn't matter what the forum, the dissatisfied or unsuccessful vent in forums and the others move on and enjoy new leases on life. I belong to a forum about knee and hip replacements. Reading the forum, I figured the success of my knee replacements was not much more than a crap shoot. Mine went very well and I tried to stay with the forum to assure others. Needless to say, I now rarely visit the forum as my knees are no longer any concern to me. It just happens. My Sleeve surgery couldn't have gone any better and my weight loss is progressing well. I intend to take all I can get from this forum and again, I will try to offer encouragement to others. But alas, I am already excited about getting smaller and what lies ahead, so I expect I will visit here less frequently as well. Good luck with your decision.
  21. Idle mind thingy.....food creeps in. Do more workouts.....start a project.....get busier. It's probably just the head hunger thing. Fight it off and get back to it.
  22. My choice was different than alot of others. I'm up there in years and the clock is ticking. Add in some co-stuff and I become a ticking time bomb. The minute I found out I qualified and could get it done, my mind was made up. No looking back since.
