  1. Well, I don't know about the crying part, but hang in there.....day one and two are the worst.....easier to handle after that.
  2. Cmon, let's be realistic, Before the sleeve, if there was a motorized way to get from the house to the car, I would have taken it. I used to work out tons when I was skinny (such a distant memory) But once obese, I figured exercise was pointless. I got exhausted walking thru a store. The sleeve didn't change us overnight. We are still starting out obese and workouts are gonna be super difficult and exhausting. But at least now there is a point to it. The possibility of actually reaching that goal. I used to be embarrassed to even enter the gym. Now I have a kinda smirk that I know something they all don't. I will get this weight off, regardless of their judgmental glaring. speaking of......I'm off to the gym.....less people there in the morning.....LOL.
  3. Waiting on labs but in meantime doing the Trader Joes Multi's and 5k of Biotin (my hair is the last sign of my youth, don't want to lose it) and a couple K of Vit D. Will see from blood test if I need anything else or if I can even forgo what I'm taking now.

    Calories & protein per day?

I never ate only 3 ounces of anything before surgery, so I'd probably lose no matter what I ate........But, with only a total of 3 ounces at a time, I've gotta chose wisely if I wanna stay healthy. For now, I keep under 700cal. and close to 100g Protein daily. But along with genders being different, everybody's individual needs will probably be different as well.

    Feeling Frustrated

You're gonna get plenty of feedback on solutions for the stall............but what I need to know is........Exactly how do you hide your scale from yourself??? This one has got me really stumped........

    Anyone feel dizzy post op

15 months since post op and 6 times today is probably not something normal or routine. Hindsight is not much good when it comes to warning signs. I'd call or go in and see your PCP.
  8. I liked your response to a thread of mine which unintentionally turned into somewhat of a controversy. I guess I need a little more experience with the forum game. Thanks for jumping in and shedding some insight on what I overlooked.

I think I'll take a note from your post and just pass on replying to so many repetitive posts.

      Oregondaisy

Where did you go? I can understand you don't want to post on the board anymore. It does get repetitive and can really pi$$ a person off. But I miss you.

Can you PM me your email address? I tried to PM you but it wont' let me.

      How are things?

  9. I had a post here, but it seem redundant and it wouldn't let me delete it, so I removed it. Carry on......
  10. OK, let's examine the question. "Did anyone else experience this? Actually, chances are, the majority if not everybody did. Experience what, you ask? Well, pretty much every single question that ends with "did anyone else experience this. Most sleeve surgeries and recoveries are very similar and in so much that, we are all assumed to be of the human species, our experiences are typically similar as well. But what becomes apparent is what is being overlooked when these questions are repeatedly being asked. Let me explain. Your desperate to get a quick answer to your question, so you rush to post it and wait for a response.......possibly not getting the answer or the information you actually wanted and possibly not getting such a quick response either. After all, there may only be a few online at that particular moment. The point is, your overlooking what is right in front of you. The exact answer and information you need is located within the forum already. (numerous times) And is easily found by quickly searching thru the various categories and thread titles. And it's available instantly. And the real benefit is, while your browsing and reading, you're gonna find many other topics and posts on subjects you were thinking about questioning later. All this surfing will provide you with readily available knowledge to easily deal with or remove any fears, concerns or unknowns that might have continued to bother you. So if it can't wait, by all means ask away, but in the meantime, search the archives and ease your mind without the wait. This tidbit was brought to you by 'Recycled' with nothing to do at one in the morning......... .
  11. I figured not everyone would get it. Chill guys, it's just pointing out how much information is available if you look. And I do get the point that people want to post their inquirys like they are the first to experience something or to get personal support. It's all good. Different strokes and all.
  12. First, go lock the window. Cmon, that was funny. Really, just calm down and take a few deep breaths. You are ready for this. You've read up and gone thru the whole pre-op process. Stuck with it thru an appeal for approval. You want this and know it is going to make your life better. You're just letting yourself get too wrapped up in the unknowns. Is it gonna hurt? Will there be complications?? Forget all that. You have no control over it and if there are any issues, you will be plenty strong enough to handle whatever is required to get thru anything. But just think how silly you'll feel when this is over in the blink of an eye with none of the worrisome things swirling around in your head. Close your eyes and think pleasant relaxing thoughts and visualize yourself getting slimmer and slimmer and enjoying all the compliments. It's gonna be over so fast and you'll be home having a hard time even believing you had the surgery. And I want you to come back here with a big smile after to tell me I was right. Now relax and enjoy all the attention your gonna get in the hospital.

    Bougie size?

Makes no difference to me. It could be a fire hose.......I could care less....... only 3 ounces is fittin' in there anyway.

    Robotic assisted VSG

Yep, I did. Da'Vinci robotics (I had a post a while back with links). The experience?? ........ Went into the OR......woke up later. Just kidding. The experience is the essentially the Surgeon's of course. As far as outcome, my sleeve went smooth as a bell. Pretty much by the book, no pain, no issues (knock on wood). A month later and barely a trace of the marks. I also had unbilical and heital hernias repaired. No issues from those as well.

    Too late......
  19. I kinda did what you're suggesting and pretty much didn't follow any real diet during my 6 months wait. But to be quite honest, as I see the weight come off now, my determination gets stronger and I find myself actually liking the foods I am limited to. Probably because anything tastes great at this point. But with the lack of hunger and getting full on such small amounts of whatever I eat, I just don't miss all the past fatty food stuff. And some things undergo an unexpected change too. I loved sugarfree popcicles before surgery and in the weeks that followed, but they have become too sweet for me, so I lost my desire for them. It happens. Probably will for other things too later on. Doesn't bother me and I doubt you'll care either. Plenty of good healthy choices out there. So, back to your topic of pre-op diet..........I doubt it makes any difference. Enjoy.
  20. I hear ya on the Kayak. I have had one for over 10 years and took it out maybe 3 times. I do have a large fishing/ diving (power) boat and take it out alot though. I guess when it comes to recreation for me, I prefer power. I have and enjoy all the guy toys.....Motorcycles, atvs, boats, flying, diving etc. Maybe I just got bored taking so long to get somewhere in the Kayak. I've kinda always hated exercise just for the sake of exercise and having the sleeve really hasn't changed that either. I do go to the gym and ride my bike and walk now, but I consider it a necessary evil. I'd still rather enjoy my rec time with power toys. So, I'd have to decline your Kayak challenge.....you'd beat the pants off me. I
  21. I'm on myfitnesspal too, but that is where the similarity stops.......your food mantra is way over my head. All I do there is cuss out the chart for lying. At the end of each page is that infernal prediction of what I'll weigh in 5 weeks. I must not be human, cause it ain't happening..... Curse these damn stalls.
  22. Remarkable accomplishment. Truly inspiring.
