No change in weight for 15 days at 3 months out
Pixie Dust replied to mamamareli's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't gotten to 3 months yet but I have read on this board (over & over & over) that the dreaded 3 month stall is very common. All I can say is what I've read to switch up your diet a little. Eat a bit more calories, drink a bit more water (remember, the more water you drink, the more your body shrinks!) & not sure what else, but you can do a search on it. There are lots of seasoned Sleevers here who give great advice! Just don't get discouraged...it's part of the journey! Good luck to you!! -
Better than little black dress!
Pixie Dust replied to soocalchic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Holy cow, you look GORGEOUS!!! Love the outfit too! I have a houndstooth gray & black skirt suit that I bought in Paris a loooooong time ago, BC = before children ~ lol! The style is classic so I can wear it anytime but it hasn't fit since the early 90's! I've held on to it all these years because I love it so much & I've actually gone in my guestroom closet, just to look at it sometimes! I hope that I'll be able to wear it again someday. Not too sure I can get down that much but that houndstooth suit is my hope! Thanks for sharing your pic! -

I'm going to call our Trader Joe's tomorrow to see if they have any of this! I just googled it & am pretty sure I'm going to be a big fan of it! -
Need Birthday Meal Ideas
Pixie Dust replied to Canary Diamond's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Man, I need to try some Indian food! Our friend was from India & we had the BEST food at his parties. Have no idea what I was eating but wow, was it good (& extremely spicy too!) YUM!!! -
Well, I haven't moved on from friends for the exact reasons you did but I did move on from a friend who was just such a Debbie Downer that I just finally gave up! I think that's the reason you gave up on this one, not because she smoked or was overweight but because she had a way of bringing you down & we just don't need people like that in our lives ~ ever. I felt so free once I stopped communicating with that one friend. I felt bad too at times because I know she had problems but sometimes I felt she brought on her own problems. I do still think of her at times, even tho I moved 2000 miles away about 17 years ago & I do wish her well, but I also can't be happier about her not being in my life anymore! Move on sweetie, & never look back!

VSG and plastic before and after pics
Pixie Dust replied to xenafnp's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Absolutely unbelievable! Is it true that having the plastic surgery is very painful? I keep hearing that, altho even tho if I do lose all the near 140 lbs, I doubt I'd be brave enough to go thru another surgery. I'm older than you too so I don't know if at my age, I'd go thru all that. You look **amazing**! Congratulations to you! -
Welcome & good luck to you! Be sure to let us know how your surgery went!

I wear Crocs & sneakers with orthodics (?) in them. I love my Crocs & have several pair in several diff colors. I have 2 pair of dressy shoes for weddings/funerals. That's about it. It's no fun dressing up at nearly 300 lbs so didn't care anymore. Once I lose a decent amount of weight, I'm going shoe shopping! Can't wait to wear strappy heels!
-
I asked my foot doctor if my shoe size would change after losing weight & he said no. I was bummed to hear that but now you're both saying you're shoes are too big! That's awesome news! Maybe he doesn't know everything afterall! Haha!

Vitamin d deficiency
Pixie Dust replied to staylo60's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, it could be because Calcium is added to it. My Vitamin D pills are tiny. I got the chewable calcium squares in chocolate & also raspberry flavor. They're pretty good! -
Good for you! Now next time, don't hide that pretty face of yours with your camera (phone)!

Thank you for turning a negative into a positive! I'm only 2.5 weeks out & I already think I'm losing more hair than normal but I do have a ton so maybe it won't be noticeable. Even if it does thin out, I would still rather be healthier & be around longer for my children.

Need some encouragment
Pixie Dust replied to shannonk1676's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same fears as you only I'd be leaving behind an 11 y/o autistic son & an 18 y/o son & my wonderful husband. I bit the bullet & went ahead with the surgery & feel I made the best decision. The surgery itself was really nothing. I remember feeling worse after having my tonsils out at 5 or 6 y/o. I'm only 2 weeks out but have had a decent weight loss so far. I just hope it keeps on moving. The only regrets I have so far is that I didn't do it sooner. I wasted my youth being heavy & unable to participate in life so hope to make up for lost time. Go for it & don't look back sweetie! It's also very normal to be afraid & have doubts. I'm sure everyone goes thru it. -

Running Out of Options
Pixie Dust replied to Memecita72's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ground turkey or chicken or beef? I love the chicken burgers with carmelized onions from Sam's Club ~ I can't remember the brand name but they are delish! I'm not up to that stage yet as I just entered the pureed stage. :-( I even love those black bean burger patties from Costco! They're very tasty! Also, how about grilling veggies after marinating in low cal Italian dressing? I love grilled veggies, especially zucchini & red peppers with just a tiny drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Hoping I can eat all that stuff soon! Especially before BBQ'ing season is over! -

I hate all of them except for Premier Protein & you can find them at Costco, Sam's & Walmart. Not sure where else. Good luck.
