Has anyone started taking Biotin & if so did you see an increase in your weight loss? I know its for hair & nails but I also read that it promotes your metabolism.. Is this true & how many mcg's do you take I see they have them from 300 to 10000 mcg's..??

Abdominal binder?? What's that? Like a mid section workout brace or spanks? I have pain there as well & I return to work next week, but haven't heard of this.. I need to get one of these ASAP...

Tomorrow it will be 2 weeks since my surgery & early on I told myself I'm gonna stay off the scale because I don't want the #'s to play wit my mind or become a slave to the scale... Well TODAY I broke that promise to myself & got on the scale a few times today & I sure regret it.. I think I'm gonna put it away in the garage outta site outta mind right..

LAST NITE I finally home from the hospital in Dallas after 10 hrs in ER Tues night they kept me & admitted me at 2 am Wed. What they found after several tests the Stabbing pain on my right side where there are no stitches was Atelectasis a lil collapsed lung tissue & /lil pneumonia (gave me antibiotics) No pulmonary embolism or Gallblatter issuses which is great news. I'm gonna be ok.. No pains meds for it at discharge just have to deal wit it & will go away on its own... Ok doky Ouch.

Thanks so much I woke up yesterday am wit that stabbings pain, I thought I was getting better then this... Today is my 1 week post op. So I will surly ask if he thinks its that & go head & do an ultrasound TODAY. & I asked the doctor before surgery if he saw an issues wit gallstones to go head & remove... I didn't want to have surgery the have to come right back for another. He said everything looked good then. So this means longer recovery, more pain, more anesthesia huh.. I just want the pain to go away.... I haven't even weighted myself after surgery due to all the bloat & all.. Thanks so much foe this info, I was thinking embolism & everything else but the gallbladder because it was aol soon after surgery...

Right that is a lil weird especially when they made us go to all those nutrition classes & drilled in our heads about all 3 stages & how IMPORTANT it is not to rush your new stomach & eat soft or solid foods to fast... So he just basically told you to skip stage 2 all together Wow... Well he is the DOC.. lol so what are you gonna do? I go tomorrow for my 1 week post op I wonder what's he's gonna say.... Prayers are wit you girl..

This Tues the 26th was surgery day, been walking a lot but today when walking I caught a cramp, but that same leg & ankle have been swollen for the past 2 days.. Don't know if its a clot or just a walking cramp??

How do you know the difference while walking if you simply have a cramp in your calf muscle or a blood clot? I'm not in terrible pain but don't want it to get worst either.. Or do blood clots not show any early signs?

My surgery is in a little over 8 hrs away. Can't really sleep, I'm not nervous just not sleepy... Thinking about my journey thus far & things I want to accomplish in the future. I guess I do need to try & get some sleep since I have to be at the hospital @ 5:30 am huh... prayers go out to all on this journey wit me, wishing all a speedy recovery. TYRA

My surgery is Tuesday 26th @ 8am. Yippeee can't wait to start this next chapter but I've been wondering from my fellow sleeve family that had the procedure last month. What's the 1st areas on your body where you noticed the weight loss.. I keep hearing in your face is that true? I know everyones body is different tho.

Hey there March 26ers lol,,, I'm also on Tuesday 26th @ 8am, my bag is almost packed & ready to go.. lol.. Liquid diet hasn't really been hard until today (day 6) I'm really STARVING, but I'm maintaining.... woooooo sigh... (I'm work today, during the week I didn't really pay attention to the hungry pains just drank water & got over it & stayed busy.. Just gotta hang in there.....To New beginning.. HAD MY PRE OP APPT TODAY AT BARKER BARIATRIC IN DALLAS, MEET WITH MY SURGEON DR. RODRIGUEZ. THEY REALLY ANSWERED ALL MY CONCERNS I HAD ABOUT BLOOD CLOTS, THEY WILL BE SENDING ME HOME WITH THOSE MASSAGING LEG WRAPS, BLOOD THINNERS, AND OF COURSE I NEED TO KEEP WALKING..... MY NERVES HAVEN'T REALLY KICKED IN YET, BUT I'M SURE THEY WILL AS THE DATE GETS CLOSER..... SURGERY DATE TUESDAY, MARCH 26TH, 2013 THEY SAID I'M THE 1ST SURGERY OF THE DAY & THE ONLY SLEEVE THAT DR. RODRIGUEZ HAS THAT DAY...... 8AM, BUT I HAVE TO REPORT AT 5AM.... (O MY) LIQUID DIET SO FAR STARTED ON MONDAY I'M ALREADY DOWN 8LBS AS OF THIS AM.. YIPPEE.. TOTAL OF 25 LBS DOWN SINCE JANUARY WHEN I HAD STARTED WEIGHT WATCHERS PRAYERS GO OUT TO EVERYONE DURING YOUR JOURNEY...

OOOOO MMMM GGGG.... IM APPROVED I GOT THE CALL THIS AM @ 11 & I MISSED IT, I WAS IN A MANAGERS MEETING.. AFYER GOING ROUND & ROUND WIT INSURANCE & DAILY CALLS FOR 9 DAYS... MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED... MY PRE OP APPT IS IN THE AM & SURGERY CAN NOW STAY AS PLANNED FOR NEXT WEEK 26th.. Wow I had gotten really discourage some of those day during the waiting game, I gave it up to God last night so I could stop stressing so much.. wow & looked what happen I at last heard those magic words I'm approved...

Day #4 still waiting for ins approval, surgery is scheduled for 26th, I think Cigna is waiting till last min to approve me right up to my surgery date I was hoping I would have an approval today I called @ lunch time they say the nurse is still reviewing it, but nothing is missing they have all 32 pages required they said. What's the hold up..? My Co worker had her approval in 3 day with them.... my nerves have got the best of me at this point OMG

Tyas84, hello there I'm in your same boat waiting for approval but they say go head & start liquid diet this Monday for 1 week.. Pre op appt on 3-21-13 & surgery scheduled for 26th, I'm so extremely nervous I was submitted on this Tuesday hoping for approval tomorrow praying for us both... I've bitten all my nails off so far this week lol..

Yes at my nutrtion class she told me if you have anemia low iron you may have to have a blood transfusion during surgery, or if its extremely low they will postpone surgery till levels come up.... believe me I'm anemic & I've been pumping up on my iron big time..
