Hello al! As you join the group, please drop a line here to introduce yourself or just say HI! I'll get us started. I am Museum-Mama. I am a thirty-something mom of one and, yes, I do work in a museum. I am getting sleeved because I am tired of being tired. I want to be healthy and keep up with my kiddo. My goal is to lose 75 lbs. So, how about you? Feel free to be as open or simple as you feel comfortable. Ciao for now, Museum Mama

I love my firbit one and aria! I love the interface of fitbit so much better than my fitness pal too. I got bot of these things because I am HORRIBLE at keeping track. These do the job for me and I don't even have to think about it. I just have to remember to charge my tracker. I bought the scale used on ebay. So many get it for christmas, and by june they want the money because they don't use it. Its harder to get the trackers since many sellers have lost parts and such.

Surgery complete. Half way to goal. Happy with the results thus far. But how far am I going? At the moment, I am just adrift in the currents of change and weight loss. Not a bad place to be, for now. Societal pressures say I should be rail thin. The BMI (to which our insurance companies enslave our health standards to) says I should be very thin, when going by the ideal weight for all of my 63". My boyfriend would like for me to keep some curves. My doctor wants me to lose at least 80lbs, no more than 100. Everyone has an idea of where I should end up, and what I should be. What about me? Yes, I know. I know. I should get to a place that makes me happy. But where is that? I know I don't want to be rail thin or too thin. I like having curves, but I don't want too many curves. That's why I got the surgery in the first place! I'm half way to the Doctor's goal. I have time to figure this out. I have time to discover the new physical me that emerges. In the end, fat or skinny, I am still me. I like me. I didn't like the way I looked, but I like ME. So, here I go, adrift in the currents of change and weight loss. Enjoying the journey. To thine own self be true.

Oops...as I just finished my lunch which you advise against. I didn't think about all that. I will admit that I am one that needed the reality check. Good thing we get Boar's Head here. Thank you!

Yes, the tracker will not count it. you will have to log in to your account and add it there. Would be nice! I swim and have to log it each time.

I am almost three months and I still cannot get either goal. My nut says thats ok for now and to focus on the Water. But it does help to get one shake (4-6 oz) in a day, and to get some Protein that mixes with water, like the Syntax nectar. It will get better and I am noticing I am able to take in more liquid than before. Just keep at it the best you can.

Faint/Dizzy on liquid diet?
Museum-Mama replied to TvlGrl712's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The only time I experienced something like this post surgery was because I was not getting in enough liquids and became dehydrated. That does not seem to be the case with you. My only other thought would be that your body is going through a huge change in sugar intake and needs to get used to it. I dont know what normal sugar levels should be, but you did have an OJ just before the tests. Perhaps you are dropping too low too fast? I wish I could tell you something helpful. I hope that you get better and they find the cause. HUGS! -

Apparently, I am an idiot at times. LOL! Since this is a secret group, you will not be able to SEE the group until you have joined. So, in the end, I will need you to PM me your e-mail address that you have registered on Facebook to add you. After you have joined, the link will work for you. Sorry about that. I got too excited, and am still learning this group admin stuff. -

Hiatal Hernia Repair with Gastric Sleeve
Museum-Mama replied to AmyInOrlando's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yup. That's about normal. I had a hiatal hernia fixed, and gallbladder removed when I was sleeved. I felt like poop for quite a while. Maybe a month at most. It does get better each day. I still have to take Prilosec to control the acid. I still gurgle when I drink certain liquids, but for the most part am much better. Even the pain in the shoulder should go away. Take GasX chewables. They will help with some discomfort and gurgling too. HANG IN THERE!! The first two months were the hardest for me, and I made it through just fine. You can too. -
June 2013 Sleevers GROUP
Museum-Mama replied to Museum-Mama's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ok, I see that I am using the incorrect terminology. This is a SECRET group. Not just a closed group, which, as you say, can be seen by your friends. I have attached a photo of the Facebook descriptions and the Group info for those interested. NewMommy, I am not being argumentative at all. I believe what you say. I just want those who may be uncertain to be very clear that this group truly is SECRET. PLEASE NOTE:If you e-mail to the Group address you see in the picture, it will go to the WHOLE group. So please e-mail me directly ar museummamma@facebook.com. Thank you. -
June 2013 Sleevers GROUP
Museum-Mama replied to Museum-Mama's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I cannot PM you the link to my profile to be added as a friend. I know the link works, but I guess because it is private and a closed (invite only) group, it wont work. Seems silly, but reassures me this is truly a private page. I need to know how to get intouch with you without plastering my private info on the web as well. Can you PM on here your e-mail addy that you use on Facebook? I can add you to the group that way. -
June 2013 Sleevers GROUP
Museum-Mama replied to Museum-Mama's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ive never seen it do that, New Mommy. I've joined three closed, private groups, and all show up on my sidebar but not in my timeline....not even as displayed to "Only Me". I will look again though. -
Is anyone else signed up to do the Color Run in Dallas this November? I'm already on a team, but perhaps we could meet up afterward?
