It's a unit of measurement for weight that the British-English use. You can google it, and find out the pound equivalent. I can't remember what it is. Lol.

Good protein shake

Just asked my personal registered dietitian (aka mom), and she would not say a specific amount because she doesn't know. Her answer: it all depends on your hight and muscle mass. Ie. a body builder over 6' will metabolize way more than a petite, slender woman. Also, IMHO, I do not take info from commercial sites to seriously. While they may give some good info, I think it wiser to see if a site like mayoclinic.org has an answer. Headed there now.... -
Just saying, the mountain of paperwork at pre op check in is UNREAL!

Is anyone else having a hard time with compliments...?
Museum-Mama replied to Ima Loser's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I do. I started with the thank yous and it helped. I also learned to return a compliment so that the focus is no longer on me. Im not sure how well this will work when I lose the weight. -

Sooo...as my screen name implies, I work in the museum business. I often do period interpretation in the fall/winter. I am wondering if having a sleeve will prohibit me wearing a corset under my dresses. I dont know any sleeved history interpreters to ask. Do any of you have trouble wearing corsets? I wear mine ad tight as what I can stand for the evening so that the clothing falls properly. Anyone?

Totally random Q, but makes sense to me.

i said the same thing to a coworker, "I miss chewing!" and her responce was "Chew gum." :/ Not helpful. I like Jello, so I made some sugar-free jigglers. My son and I had fun with those. broth helps to get a savory flavor instead of always having a sweet shake. I dont seem to be having much of a hunger problem, but I am not feeling all that well either. And I am not getting in all that I should be. Hang in there! -
I ended up with the same kind of thing. I had been planning to do the "put on workout clothes and stand in front of a white wall" pics....but I just cant bring myself to do it. My bf took some pics of me and my son in Austin this weekend, and I think some will work for a before. None of the big ol' bum, thank the Lord! lol.

The clear liquids is because red ones can appear to be blood. SO best not to have them in the system! I do pre-op on Monday (June 3), endoscopy on Tuesday, sleeve on Wednesday. WHEW!! -

Yeah. I was discussing that with my boyfriend last night. My doc has his patients on a 1 week liquid diet. I can have 4-5 shakes a day, SF-jello, broth, skim milk, and 64oz of Water. The shakes have to have over 20mg of Protien, and less than 10mg of Carbs. (I hope I wrote that correctly, Im typing from memory.) Then the day before surgery, its all Clear liquids only: water, broth, non-red sport drinks. That's the day I dread! How about you? -
Hmm.....I've never heard about this. Definitely going to have a chat with the doc about it since pills are messing me up big time. Thanks for sharing!
