    oh donuts!

    First, my boy friend is supportive of my surgery. But sometimes he can be so dumb. Last night he came home with a box of mixed donuts. One of my addictions is sweets. I love Boston cremes and there were two in there. So wole he and the kiddo ate some, I was shaking as I ate my greek yogurt. Ive done so well not wanting anything bad, but last night and this morning has been torture! Despite the "just one bite..." reasoning, I was good and ate yogurt again. The other half of me wants to be mean and smash the box over his head. Just frustrated.

    Thanks for the sympathy all. Much appreciated. He really is a supportive guy and encouraging with the workouts. He is very fit and just had a carb craving and didn't think about my reaction to the sweets. Its just strange that this is the first craving-fight I've had to deal with since the preop diet. Weird.

    Fitbit

    I love my fitbit one! Although I wish I had known about the bracelet coming out. Anyway, I love it because it logs all my walking and I don't have to think about it. I also bought the aria scale so I can keep track of my weight. You can both use it and it can tell you apart. Ive been syncing them with myfitnesspal, but I kind of like the fitbit site better.

    Retaining water-HELP!

    Are you on any prescriptions that cause water retention?? I am on antibiotics at the moment and am retaining like crazy. Just a few more days and I'm finished!

  6. Just have to brag, and SO SHOULD YOU!!!! For those of you who have been sleeved this month already, how much have you lost total, and how much of that was since surgery? I got on the scale an hour ago. I have lost 20 LBS SO FAR!!!! 13 of that has been since surgery on the 5th. I dont feel a change in my yoga pants, so I was shocked! Soooo? How about you? Lets give the rest of the June-bees something to REALLY look forward to!

    I say double check with your nut. Mine said it was ok as is, but ive seen others that said their nut told them to strain it until they get to the soft foods stage.

    I drank it all the time pre surgery. Now my stomach cannot tolerate artificial sweetners. it was good stuff!

    I need a hug

    I am beginning to feel the same way. Im a little over aonth out and stuck at 30# lost, most of which was liquid diet. Now I am retaining watet like crazy andb have gained 5 from just that. Also no energy but I take my Vitamins as told. No regrets but am a wee bit disheartened about the weight situation too. Hugs!

    I am pretty much on the same schedule as you are, and I do not take any BC. I was sleeved on June 5, had my period the week before, and I have not had it since. However, I am retaining water like nobody's business! ARGH! I hope this is normal, because there is no way I am pregnant either.

    Easting schedule

    Because I am in idiot, and cannot seem to get my requiments in, I am hunkering down and making a schedule of when I should be eating and what. Has anyone else done this, and willing to share with me? I am not looking for specifics of what to eat (cheese, ham, etc). Something like: 6am - protien shake - 4 oz 8am - Breakfast 10 - snack 12 - lunch 2 - shake - 4oz blah blah blah....and so on. I have a desk job and I forget to eat and drink. I never feel hungry, and what I do drink (what little of it I do) keeps me feeling full for a long time. I had surgery a month ago, and am cleared for soft and regular foods that I can tolerate. Anyway, suggestions for success are most appreciated! Thank you!

    Holy cow. It takes me an hour to eat 2ozs of anything. Same with drinking. I cannot meet my 64oz requirement. I just cannot get food and liquid through me. So frustrated! !!

    June surgery dates

    Sorry for jukping in so late. Some of you have asked about painf hiccups. Mine hurt like heck the first few weeks. I had a hiatal hernia fixed. Usually the doc has to stitch up a tear in the diaphragm. So it hurts! But it does stop. For me it was around three weeks out.

    I had 120 bpm, but I was not getting my liquids in. Are you feeling dizzy or sluggish at all? How is your blood pressure?
  17. I am almost a month out, and ever since surgery, i have been have the strangest dreams! Some boarderline nightmarish, but most are just sooooo wierd. When I was a healthier weight, I used to have very vivid dreams of all kinds, then over the last two or three years, I haven't been able to recall if I even dreamt at all. Now, its every night. Some of them exhaust me! I wake up physically tired from it. Anyone else experiencing this?

    SAme here. Sleeved June 5. I know my problem, I am not getting enough Water in. Dehydration will make yo sleepy and loopy headed. Speaking of....I need to go grab another bottle of H2O. sigh.

    Seriously? Does everyone exercise?

    What about dancing? I used to do basic ballet. It helps with the posture and back muscles and leg muscles. I have also done beginner belly dancing (before my belly became a blob) and man does it work those abdominals! Both were great fun becuase the class was mostly older woman looking for a fun excercise, and we made fun of ourselves. Just a suggestion.

  21. 1wk post op, I landed my hiney in the ER due to dehydration. I gained 6 lbs back. ok, no biggie. Now I am getting better and closer to meeting the 64oz goal each day. However, my weight has stayed at 199. I have started adding in full liquids ... mostly just Protein shakes. The shakes make me feel so stuffed, and it takes me a loooooooong time to get 11 oz down. Well, I weighed this morning and I have gained a pound. BOO I have e-mailed my NUT to see what she recommends. I am struggling and frustraited to get it all in. I feel like, when I was fat I have NEVER stuffed myself this much!! I am adding to protein to the Water, doing Protein Shakes, and sipping on broths and miled down cream Soups. I don't know if the body is adjusting. I didn't get my pre-op measurements from the doc's office that day. So I have nothing to compaire them to. Going to take my own tonight to start comparing. Any words of wisdom from the veterans out there?

  24. I heard this this morning! There was a sound bite of a doctor saying, "I don't care what you call it, as long as they get the access to the medical care they need!!" AMEN, BROTHER!

    Egg drop soup?

    My nut ok'd it! It really was a life saver. I had it twice during my 1wk preop diet. Granted, they were little bowls, not a huge caraffe or anything.
