Anyone here from Texas?
Museum-Mama replied to shielanotsheila's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So glad to see your review! I am using My Bariatric Solutions too. So far, compared to an experience I had here in Waco, the MBS staff have been WONDERFUL!!!! I know its a long drive for me, but the attention I am getting from them is well worth it. Plus, they are letting me do some of my lab work here rather than drive in to DFW each time. Since I am self pay, thwy are chacking to see if I need any other work (gallbladder and hiatal hernia). If I do, the can fix it while sleeving me and then charge a portion to insurance. So far nothing but good things! -
How wonderful for you!!! Thank you so much for sharing your story, and letting all of get to know you. Continued blessings on your journey.

friend....if you are getting your exercise completed like you should.

Well, how do you feel about the friend? His first response was, "the pretty one". Lol! Anyway, you should talk to the guy and see if he realizes what he did and if he sincerely is sorry.

Museum-Mama replied to Dana Tumblin's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
There are several of us already! look in the June 2013 forum, the PRE-op forum, or just do a search. We have several threads going. Welcome to the fun!! -
Just thinking ahead, and wondering if I should look for something like the baby bullet since I will need soft/pureed food. I have a blender, but wonder if something smaller might be better. I will be with parents the week of op, but at home afterward and most likely at work. The easier and more prepared I am, the better I can do! Any thoughts or experiences? Thanks!

Congrats on a date!! Just a word of caution on the endoscopy.... when the doc says eat soft foods for three days, OBEY! My ex (bless his pointed lil' head...) didn't listen and ate fried chicken two days later. Well, when the numbness finally wore off, he was in major pain. But no worries! You'll be fine!

I've been reading through the help topics (which werent really helpful at all) about editing your profile. It says there is a UserCP, and I am assuming that is where I click on My Settings when I hover over my pic at the top of the page. I do use those side tabs to enter information, but notice that a lot of the info I have entered, doesn't show up! For example, my surgery information says that I have not entered anything yet, but it shows my dates, weight, surgeon, etc.... It also says I can change the color of my profile page. WHAAAA??? I certainly didn't see that option! I have also noticed that some have changed that little title above their profile picture from the standard "Member" or "Sleeve Guru" and such... to "Fitness Junkie" or "Mom, Wife, and Star Wars Geek". How did they do that?!?! I love this site and the forums, but it seems the design/layout isn't very Fluid. Just my two cents. About seven years ago, I used a site for having a healthy pregnancy. It had a GREAT layout and look. I would recommend it, but I looked at it a few days ago and its over run with ads and looks junky. Oh well. Anyway, More info on how to FULLY set up a profile would be great. THANKS!

Thanks, wolfgirl! Looking forward to this new lifestyle! -
Not sure what restrictions there are on tea, but my absolute FAVORITE brand of tea is Wissotzky. Everything I have tried is fantastic! Here's where you can order online or just see what they have: http://www.wteashop.com/ The Fruit galore tea, over ice, tastes like Cool-Aid! My son and I love it in the summer.

Almost finished with pre-op stuff!
Museum-Mama replied to southernsoul's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm not exactly sure...lol.... but it will show if my gallbladder is having issues. Not stones, but over production and such. With the pain I have been having, and I cal already tell them, IT DOES! :/ But my VSG doc wants me to get the scan done to see if it needs removing. If it does, then my insurance will cover a portion of the surgery cost to remove the gallbladder and fix my hiatal hernia. Once my PCP says to take it out, I can set a date!!! Here's more info on the test: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/hida-scan/MY00320/DSECTION=what-you-can-expect -

Museum-Mama replied to Nicolanz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When it rains, it pours. Right? Just keep faith that this storm, too, shall pass. I recently when through some horrific and very stressful things over the past year. Only two weeks ago did life get better. Just remember to get good sleep, and BREATHE! I wish I could help you out with the car, but if you need anything for the baby, I will be happy to send you something. I will also keep your family in my prayers. HUGS! -

Think like Doree the fish...Just keep sipping! Just keep sipping! Or something like that. lol. There is no rule that says you have to chug. Just keep a constant, easy intake of Water. Also, stay in the shade so you don't get sun poisining. It's the WORST! Dehydration is only a small part of it, so please be careful! Take an umbrella if you have to. I am sooooo fair skinned that I just keep my parasol in my car so I don't fry during the summer.
