Oh goodness I thought I was the only one! I feel like a failure sometimes it's been 9 mo for me and I've only about 40. I fluctuate between 2-5 pounds a day and it's so frustrating! HOWEVER to put a positive spin on it I can maintain!!! We will all get there in our own time -

Getting frustrated
Shears2012 replied to Susie1226's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone. I was sleeved 3/4/13. I was on a liquid diet 2weeks prior to my surgery. I was also getting very frustrated because I was following ALL the drs orders, walking & drinking what I was told. After surgery I was still on liquid diet till my 1week check up. I was on the scale every day and the scale DIDN'T move at all for 3 days. I was so devastated. At my 1week check up the dr said, 1) stay off the scale, 2) if you have less body fat to loose it will come off slower than those who have more body fat to loose. 3) keep getting at least 90g of protein in. Try increasing your protein, defiantly get your water in, and continue to exercise (walk unless cleared by you dr). Good luck to all of us!! -

I was sleeved 3/4/13. I find that if I do to much I get those same symptoms. I sit down and relax until it passes. Are you doing to much? Good luck to you. I hope you feel better soon. -

Had my 1 week post surgery check up today and after a scheduling mixup and waiting almost 2 hrs he calmed all my fears and freak outs. He cleared my to go back to the gym and move onto the purée stage (I'm supper excited for this!!!). He said just do as much as your body will tolerate. Listen to your body and your new smaller stomach. Thank you to everyone on here for all your words of encouragement. I think it's so awesome that we all can connect and ask questions and say our fears and share our ups and downs. Have a great day everyone!! -

I was thinking the same thing!!! Wow!!! I was sleeved on 3/4 and have only lost 8 and that's working with my weight day of surgery till now. I read all these comments of 20-35 pounds so far and I'm like what the heck am I doing wrong. Don't get me wrong a pound a day is good but like everyone I just want it to melt off. -
I have not really cheated. I was sleeved 4/4/13. I am so sick of the liquid diet hopefully my dr will give ok to go to purée diet tomorrow. If I get the ok I'm going to purée the hell out of corned beef and cabbage one of my favs and that I only get once a year also going to purée the hell out of my traditional polish dinner at Easter and polka the night away!!! The thing that gets me is my family doesn't understand that yes I can have whatever I want as long as I follow some rules and listen to my sleeve.

How difficult is it to learn to not eat and drink at the same time?
Shears2012 replied to Simone21943's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Simone21943. I got sleeved march 4. It was very difficult to stop drinking while eating because yes it is very ingrained into us. But before I was sleeved I tried many things to for example: I would not even put a water glass out for myself at meals. If something was "dry" I would chew it the appropriate amount of times but also put something, just a little something, like mashed sweet potato with it to help it go down. After the sleeve I'm not finding it difficult at all because you get full so fast you don't have enough room for water. -
I also have a hard time. I'm 1wk post op. The first couple days were the worst because I had swelling in the stomach. There was a area that things got stuck. It's very frustrating because it was taking me 5 hrs to drink a 8 oz protein shake and I need to take in 90 g of protein a day! I am defiantly not taking in enough water and that is concerning to me. But day by day that's my mantra. Good luck to all of us! It will get easier.
