I think you were sleeved a little over a week before me...I was actually on the 21st. I went alone, while my hubby took the kids to grandmas house in calif. I did however ask him to come stay with me at the hotel. Glad I did...I would've been bored. How are you doing now? Ara

I would love to have something like this. There have got to be other people around. How are you doing with the sleeve after three years? I know the INOVA fair oaks has a meeting once a month (third Thursday) that is open to everyone.

I also live in leesburg and just had my revision from band to sleeve. Did you have yours yet?

Where do you do your support group? I feel I need to attend a group.

I'm currently in mexico after a revision on 3/21. Before I came here my insurance said they would pay for a band removal but not a new surgery. This is when i decided i wanted to just do it I'm Mexico. Everything i researched sounded great for me. My surgery went well. I was nauseas for two days post op which i was told is common from band patients. When i mentioned to my surgeon that my insurance would covered the band they said they would give me paperwork to submit to my insurance for reimbursement! Wow! I didn't even know that would be possible from Mexico. I'm going to cross my fingers that i get some money back. I have no regrets either way.

Yes, I had a revision from band to sleeve. Couldn't stand my band.

I was just banded by Dr. Garcia on march 21st to. I met you on the bus to the hotel. I went thru ready 4a change with Alma as well. I am at my last night in the Marriott and head home tomorrow. I have to say that I'm glad I got past all my fears of coming to TJ alone. The nurses and staff (melissa, samuel the driver, Dr. Velazco, Dr. Luna) were incredible and I'm am healing well because of their care and knowledge. The first day I had a lot of nausea which they said there are more complications when I have a revision from band. Today I am planning to go do some shopping on revolution street. I still weigh the same as I did pre op, but I know that will change soon after so many days of liquids. Good luck to those going soon.

I'm glad it went well. I changed mine to the 22nd and decided to go alone. Did you bring anyone with you? Do you think it will be too wierd alone all that time or has your time gone quickly. Heal quickly!

Hi everyone, I am new and wanted to be included in this group. I will be having a revision surgery from band to sleeve on march 23rd with Dr. Garcia in Tijuana. Anyone else? I am very nervous about Tijuana...I visited several times when I was younger! I have been reading so many great things here that I have decided I will be ok. I am also nervous that I will be a disappointment to everyone including myself again if this surgery doesn't help me lose weight. the band has been awful for me and I am so hopeful for the sleeve. Thanks everyone for being my support without knowing it as I just read all the different forums.
