i've done the same thing, I bought some jeans at the thrift store thinking that they would be a goal to work toward, but when I got them home and tried them on they fit perfectly, go figure. I look at myself in the mirror everyday but don't really see the changes. however the proof is in the clothes.

You look fabulous! Keep it up. -
Ok so I'm so close to Onederland that it is killing me. I am a frequent weigher, I weigh everyday that's just something that I do. So I thought that instead of obsessing over that 1 stinking lb, I could make a list of NSV's that I'm happy about, maybe that would make me feel better. So, here it goes: 1. I can fit in the booths at the diner that we go to, no more taking the table just because I could'nt breath in the booths. 2.I can slide the seat in the car all the way up and everything fits just fine. yeah! 3. I can fit in the smallest size hand-me-down clothes that my sis gave me when she lost weight. 4.Now everyone at work is starting to tell me that I look good, have lost a lot of weight. 5. I can wear my grandmother's heirloom ring, it fits me now. 6. I can wear necklaces again and not look like a walrus in a tie! 7. I actually have a neck now, it's amazing. 8. I tried on coats in Wallyworld in the regular size dept, and they fit! 9. I walked around the fair for 6 hours, was not out of breath, didn't have to sit down every 10 minutes and my feet didn't hurt. 10. My singing has improved, I can hold a note a lot longer than I could before, I guess my lungs needed the room to expand that the fat was taking up. Woo-hoo, I am feeling good, OK you 1 stinking lb, you are going to be history!!!!

yah, popcorn is a slider for me too, just get back on the wagon, we all have slip-ups now and then . There is a topic that was all about people's slips, you should read it, it will make you laugh and feel better. We are all human. -
you both look fabulous! How nice that you have each other's support. Keep it up!

I had no restriction on SF popsicles, in fact they gave they to me in the hospital. As long as it doesn't hurt you go ahead and have them, I actually thought that the cold felt good to my stomach.

Ok I have lost 44lbs in just over 3 months. I am very happy with this but.... no one seems to notice. I am in smaller size clothing, my face looks noticibly slimmer, but none of my co-workers have commented. I find this totally amusing. I didn't tell anyone but my boss that I was having the surgery and I was worried what I would tell my co-workers if they asked how I was losing weight but... again nobody notices. Guess I shouldn't have worried in the first place, however I better go purchase some new undies because the old ones are getting so loose that I'm afraid they might fall down.(I bet they'd notice that!) I am usually the one that comments nice haircut or outfit to the others so maybe they truely don't notice anything. I'm hoping to have lost 50lbs before my next doc visit, maybe someone will notice by then.

Just putting it out there, so 'dirty' little secrets may see the light of day!
TJL replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes, anything salty, and yes like others here I have eaten salt plain off a plate. I was just so sick of sweet protein drinks. hence the fries and potato chips. and mashed potatoes and gravy...mmmmm..... gravy. -

I ate some potato chips(not many!), but I also ate some of my husbands french fries and dipped them in brown gravy! Now I have to do extra work at the gym! ugh, wasn't worth it(but yes they did taste good!) -
I agree with joatsaint, get the unflavored protein and mix it in with stuff that you do like and can have. Just watch the temp. of your liquids so it doesn't clump up.

To Flu Shot or Not to Flu Shot
TJL replied to CarryOn7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Got my flu shot this week, no problems, although I've never had a problem with one, so it's all good. Better than having the flu, I've got asthma which is no fun with the flu. -
I'm so happy for you! I can't wait to get there myself, just keep bouncing with 2lbs. Good job, keep it up and keep posting, I love your posts.

help I need solutions to solving my chocolate cravings
TJL replied to joanne2013's topic in Food and Nutrition
Do you take calcium? My Doc wanted me to take Citracal twice a day, they make chocolate chews I have one after breakfast and one after dinner, they taste like a tootsie roll, and satisfies my need for desert. Also, some of the chocolate protein shakes aren't bad, and unjury makes a protein hot chocolate that is really good and filling. -
Don't stress it, do what you are suppose to and you will lose lbs. Sometimes it takes a while for your system to catch up. I know we all want it to come off immediately but your body will lose, sometimes we get stuck and nothing comes off for a couple of weeks but then you may lose 4-5lbs in one week. Good luck!

Lookin' good, keep it up!

That's wonderful! What a great accomplishment.

Ladies, it will get better. Once you get used to eating again your energy will pick up and you will feel good. I don't sleep any where near as much as I used to and I always feel like I want to be doing something. And 48lbs in one month is fabulous, keep it up!

Hey Judy, don't get discouraged. I lose slowly too, I've lost 46lbs and I'm 4 months out, but I look at it this way, Maybe we won't have as much loose skin if we lose slowly. As Long as we are exercising regularly, eating our dense proteins first, and doing what we are suppose to we are ahead of the game. Would you have lost the 40 lbs without the sleeve? I know I wouldn't have lost any weight by myself, 'cause I tried everything known to man and nothing worked. Good luck keep plugging away!
-
Don't worry stick with the program like everyone is saying. Always eat your dense proteins first. I tend to stay away from soup and things that I know I can eat a lot of like popcorn, stuff like this doesn't fill you up. But ... if I eat 2-3 oz of chicken, beef, or seafood I am full for hours. I lose slowly too but... it is coming off, I never managed to lose this much on my own. Go sleeve!

Lookin' good, keep it up, how much have you lost? I am 4 months out too.
