Way to go, congrats!!
-
I know the feeling. I bought a coat on sale online it was a great deal ordered a size 18 thinking I would soon be able to fit into it. It came in and I had to send it back it was way to big, how did that happen? I see the numbers go down on the scale but somehow it doesn't translate in my head to a smaller size. Guess I will have to go into the stores and try stuff on.

Just relax, it will happen. Follow the plan, lots of water and protein, give your body time to adjust, you just had major surgery. Good luck to you.

Well, i get hot after I eat too, I've never had any dumping or any of the signs of dumping. I thought maybe I was eating too fast but that doesn't seem to matter either. I doesn't last long it's just weird. Oh and I don't get sweaty or anything just really hot(I thought it was hot flashes!)

You look great!

Is anyone able to eat chicken & grapes post op?
TJL replied to A_ReNUDE_me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I can eat chicken and grapes, and lots of the same things I could eat pre-op, I haven't really had a problem with anything once I was healed up from the surgery. You'll be fine. -
Ok no judgement here, but if you want to lose weight any faster you have to adjust the things you are eating. Some of the things you are eating will go down easier and not give you that restricted feeling that the protein will give you. Carbs are not as dense as proteins and its easier to eat more of them and not feel full.(This is what my NUT told me). Now some of us here just lose weight more slowly than others and that's ok. Before eating that piece of pizza have an ounce or two of protein(chicken or beef or something like that) and then see if you can eat the pizza. Same thing with the sushi, it's mostly rice which for some people is a problem and others not so much, but it is a carb and just won't fill you up. Hope this helps.

You'll get there Diana and we'll all cheer you on when you do!

Thanks everyone! Now on to the next goal!

Sorry your feeling so bad, hopefully you can move on to the next stage soon. Just remember that this feeling is temporary, it gets a lot better and the weight loss is worth it. -
Thanks, ReD, I was stalled for 3 long weeks, didn't think that scale was ever going to budge!
-
Welcome, and congrats that the surgery went so well. This is a great place to get info from other sleevers or just vent if you need to. Hope everything continues to go well for you.

So sorry for your loss, will pray for you and your family.

GERD - Indigestion, Reflux, Lumps in Throat/Chest. Exposition of Symptoms and Treatment.
TJL replied to Madam Reverie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had reflux before the surgery, right after the surgery it wasn't bad, but at about 3 months it came roaring back with a vengence. I've had the same episodes as you, I got acid in my lungs and was coughing up blood for 2 days. My doc increased my PPI to twice a day and had me raise the head of my bed by 4 inches. So far it seems to be working, I'll be very interested to hear if the vinegar thing works for you. However, even though the reflux is bad, I still would have gotten the sleeve. It works when nothing else did for losing weight. -
Butter, you are already looking good, can't wait to see some pics when you are all healed up. My sister just had one on Tuesday, she said it wasn't as bad as she thought it was going to be, hope you have a speedy recovery time.

I guess I'm lucky then, my husband wouldn't touch my "healthy stuff!", he eats his "junk food" and is content.

How do you know when enough is enough?
TJL replied to byjenna's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I agree with laura-ven, you've got to get in more protein, didn't your NUT give you a diet plan? Drink as much water as you can and find more protein sources that you like. Try adding the unflavored whey protein to your soup, and to your pudding or yogurt. If you don't get in enough protein it can cause problems later. -
Well I'm 53, and it seems to be working ok for me. The surgery itself wasn't bad, and the sleeve is just another tool to help us lose the weight. Just follow your doc's plan and you should be fine. I tend to lose weight more slowly than some of the other folks on here, but I couldn't lose anything with out the sleeve so I'm satisfied that it's doing its job. Good luck to you!
-
You are down 50lbs, that's wonderful. And 30lbs in 7 weeks is a good rate, some of us just lose slower than others, and I know because I'm one of them. Still would you have lost the 50lbs without the sleeve? i know that I wouldn't have, and you will continue to lose, stick to the plan you're doing fine.

Lookin' good, you can really see a big difference, keep it up.

Today is my 3rd day after the sleeve and cant get not even 50g of protein! Help!
TJL replied to AdrianaNaji's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with everyone else, push the fluids, and protein for me at least it was easier if I stuck to thinner protein sources. I really liked the Unjury chicken soup and also the EAS carb control protein RTD, they are much thinner and it was easier to get them down. Just stay hydrated and alternate between the protein sources and the liquid. Sugar free popsicles in the beginning were wonderful for me and they felt good in my poor stomach. Good luck, hang in there it gets much better. -
if you are not hungry at breakfast time, just drink at least part of a protein shake, and then have something else later. The shake will get your system going and I assume that you have to take vitamins like the rest of us, so it shouldn't be a trial to drink the shake with your vitamins. I find that I can handle the EAS carb control shakes easier than others in the am as they are thinner, kind of like skim milk but in strawberry, vanilla and chocolate. Good luck!
