I don't take gummy vitamins but I do take a gummy B complex that my NUT and doc suggested. I also take a sugar free gummy fiber supliment. I haven't have any issues with either.

yea, I have collar bones now, couldn't see them before, and I also am a side sleeper and have to use a pillow between my knees.

Pretty sure I f***ed up the sleeve. No leak, but I might as well have never gotten it.

How far out from surgery are you? Don't be too concerned about the hair, it seems to happen to everyone(including me!) What are you eating? If you are just eating cereals/grains you won't feel the restriction, have some protein first before you eat anything else. go back to the basics, lots of water, protein, get some basic exercise like walking. A 60 lb loss is a great start, you didn't say how much you wanted to lose, so I am assuming that you still want to lose more. About the alcohol, my Doc told me that alcohol would speed through your system now, you are now officially a cheap drunk, probably don't need more than 1-2 to get that way. If alcohol is a big issue for you, you could try having a glass of water in between your drinks.Do you have a NUT or a counselor you can talk to? Hope things improve for you. -
Hi, it's Tammy, so day 1 I did 4 miles on tread mill and 1 strength training session. If I can keep this up I will have 120 miles for the month, which will be an improvement over my typical 90 miles per month.

Well, I am 5 1/2 months out, and started losing a little of hair around month 4. I also have curly hair, Have done everything that others suggested to stop the hair loss but I am hoping it will just stop on its own soon. I get plenty of protein,60-80 grams a day, drink plenty of water, don't wash my hair everyday, use a special shampoo, take all my vitamins including a B complete with extra biotin, and yet it still is coming out. I have heard other people on here say that it slows down around month 6 so I am hoping that's so, I've gotten very creative with styling my hair so it doesn't look so thin. Good luck everyone!

Before surgery my A1C was a consistant 7, after the surgery my A1C is at 5.9, and my doc thinks it will go even lower as I lose more weight. No longer have to take BP meds, now just waiting to get rid of the Janumet. 4's here I come!

I agree with what everyone here is saying, and also I remember what was discussed at a support meeting that I went to. They said we may actually mourn over the food we have given up. Let's face it a lot of us here were emotional eaters and when you take away the thing that you have been substituting for dealing with your emotions it can be very hard. Any time after a surgery your emotions can be all over the lot and this is no different. Find something else to do besides think about food, or try writing in a journal or blogging about your feelings, get them out don't stuff them.Things will start to settle down in a week or two, and you can begin to make good food choices. And by all means come back here and talk to us, we've all been through it. Good Luck!

You look fabulous, and so happy and pretty! What a great effort on your part. Congrats! -
I ask my doc before I had surgery if he was going to take away my morning cup o' joe and he told me just for 3-4 weeks after surgery. I'm over 5 months now and have been having my 1 cup of coffee in the am. since about 2 months out, it has never given me a problem, but I make sure to get enough other liquid in to compensate for it.

Doesn't sound normal to me, call your doc.

Popcorn has always been a favorite of mine, but I could eat the whole bag if I wasn't careful, it doesn't bother me at all, so instead I just snitch a handful when my hubby makes some. He will let me have a handful but that's all so it works for me as portion control.(oh, and I won't make it for myself, I know better!)

At the Cross Roads but Confused - Any Help Appreciated
TJL replied to Claybuster51's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to agree with Southernsoul, I could never have lost the weight on my own, I did try every diet and exercise program out there, but with the restriction that the sleeve provides I feel full after I eat. That is a totally new sensation for me, I was always hungry but with the sleeve I'm not constantly looking for my next snack/meal. And I don't know about anyone else but if I had enough will power to just eat less I would have done it,.... but I couldn't and this is what's working for me when nothing else did.Good luck to you! -
Ok. In the first week wtf did i do to myself pity party...
TJL replied to Bombs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Claire, things do get much better, and just wait till you see the weight come off, stick to your dietary plan, drink, drink, drink, and things will improve everyday, just give it sometime, you would probably fell crummy after any type of major surgery and this is no different.Rest up and feel better! -

But Fiddle, that's because you are Superman, I've read lots of your posts! -
Hi Butter, I am in for November! Normally I get in 2-3 miles of walking a day, and do 2 strength training sessions a week, so I want to try to up that to 4-5 miles a day and 3 strength training sessions a week.(What am I saying I hate strength training!) But yup that's what I'm aiming for. Wish me luck!

Doubts: sleeve necessary?
TJL replied to ForkAndMindy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Midnight, of course this is just my own 2 cents, but, even before I had the sleeve I weighed and measured my food. I had tried every diet known to man and just couldn't lose any significant amount of weight. So now with the sleeve the things that I did before actually contribute to me being able to lose the weight. I'm sure once we get further out like laura-ven said we will have go to items that we automatically know what they count for, but for me I need the acountablity of measuring, weighing and keying things into my calorie counter because when I don't is when things start to slide. I can go for longer times between meals now with the sleeve and am not constantly looking for my next snack or meal. The restriction the sleeve provides is what allows me to only eat what I need, and not graze like a cow.
