Wow, now I don't feel so bad about my surgery on the 14th,yours sounds terrible.I didn't have any vomitting, no reaction to the meds at all. Am having trouble with plain water, but if its a little warm it's not as bad. Hang in there it's bound to get better right?

I fell off the wagon.... HARD!
TJL replied to Butterflylegacy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is something that I worry about for the future. I think that you're very brave for fessing up and putting it out there.Yup, if it were me I would go back to the stage 3 diet, putting protein first. I know how stress can make you want to eat bad stuff, but just try telling yourself that you are way better than that and you deserve to be healthy, good luck, let us know how you are making out. -
My surgery was the 14th, and you are doing way better than me.My first week is suppose to be clear liquids and protein shakes. I am not tolerating the water well, have to put something in it to get it down without pain. I would kill for soup right now. I hate protein shakes, they are too sweet. Oh, well, 2 more days and then on to stage 2 were I can have soft stuff. My doc has me on protonix, check with your doc, you are probably suppose to be taking the nexium.

yes, I am allergic to the adhesive on tape, bandaids, ect. and they put them on anyways. I have the same thing as you, I had to pull off the bandaids, but left the steri strips. It really itches something fierce.I am using a cream on the rash that I was given before for an allergic reaction. Show your doc, he can give you something.

Hernia question
TJL replied to watchout4thebiggurl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc did an endoscopy before surgery and found a hiatus hernia and some adhesions which he said had to go. So had everything done all at once. -

Second day post op...all I feel is exhaustion. How much liquid could you get in?
TJL replied to LipstickLady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi LipstickLady, I'm on day 4 after the sleeve, and I was just like you at day 2 except I was still in the hospital. Now on day 4 it's a little better not a lot but it's at least some progress. I've gotten some good advice on here, people have said try the flavored waters, warm water, etc. Just keep trying different things till you find something that you can tolerate, I was extremely tired when I first got home, even taking my shower required a nap afterward.Today I didn't have to take a nap till 3:00 which was progress! It will get better. -
Hi guys, I was just sleeved on 5/14/13, and am having some issues I thought maybe someone has all ready had. I need some advice. I know we are suppose to be drinking lots of water but I'm having a really had time with it. It seems to make me feel sick. It's weird because it didn't make me sick in the hospital. I had hernia surgery too, so maybe that's why but I know I'm not getting enough protein or water. Any suggestions? I'm hoping to feel better soon, everyone else here sounds like they just breezed right through this first stage.

Hey Msthin, this is now day 4 for me and I'm starting to feel a little better. Sounds like you and I had about the same type of surgery. I found out that I can drink a little warm water, don't get so sick with the warm. Also I found that I can tolerate the EAS carb control protein shakes, they seem to be thinner than most of the others. I only try to drink 3 ozs, split into a oz at a time. If I break it up I can finish a whole whole by mid day. My doc called to check on me and told me go slow and steady, just don't get dehydrated. I hope you start to feel better soon.[

You look fantastic. Even if I lose all the weight that I want to there won't be any bikini pics, but I will rock a one piece.

Pammers I caan relate to that about the weight gain. I was 234 on the day of my surgery, and when I came home 2 days later, I was 244.! They must have put a lot of water and air in our stomaches to operate on. My Doc did tell me that he puts water around the stomache and then puts air in it to make sure that there aren't any leaks. So I'm just going to blame the weight increase on him, I certainly haven't been eating anything!

Thanks everyone, just hearing that others had some of the same problems makes me feel better. I will definitely try your suggestions, somethings got to work. I was getting kind of depressed and told my husband that maybe I shouldn't have done this, but he did remind me that it was major surgery and it has only been 3 days. Thanks to all for the support.

Day 3 sleever - question
TJL replied to danelle235's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, Danelle, I feel just like you. This is my 3rd day after my sleeve and I have to take a nap a couple times a day. Can't seem to get all the liquids in either. And my doc in the hospital told me at discharge to walk, walk, walk. I've tried to get some in but just taking my shower in the morning tired me out. Plus I can't seem to get back on a regular sleep schedule. Hopefully some of the sleevers that have had it longer will have good advice for both of us. Hope you feel better soon. -
Thanks everyone, I'll try the crystal light or mio.

My date was 5/14/13, so I'm post op 3 days. It's been a rough start but hopefully it will get better soon.
