  1. You look beautiful, keep it up. Work that sleeve!
  2. I only told my hubby, my son & his wife, and the HR director at work(to get the time off). I told them I didn't want anyone else to know, and they've been very good about it. I am a slow loser so no one else at work has figured it out, they just think that I've been very good at my latest diet- because I was always on a diet.
  3. 100 hundred lbs lost is great, give yourself some credit, you look beautiful. It is hard sometimes to stay on track but you've done it before and you can do it again. We are all here for you. Good Luck!
  4. I still get hungry too Tamarlarae. There are certain things that I can still eat that I could eat a lot of, like popcorn, but I don't cause I really want this to work. I had a stall on weeks 4&5, but then lost more on week 6.It's kind of funny but the thing that I can't eat a lot of is protein, 2.5 oz fills me right up, but there are things people here call "slider foods" that I could eat and not have a problem with on quantity. So far I'm resisting the temptation but I'm with you some days it's not easy. Hang in there, it will work even if you lose slowly.
  5. I'm right there with you all. Sleeved 5/14/13, I have lost 33lbs. Wish it was more but I know that I wouldn't have lost 33lbs on my own. So as they say slow and steady wins the race. Good luck everyone.
  6. You look wonderful, keep up the good work.
  7. I agree with everyone else, eat the protein first. If I eat protein I get full faster than if I eat something like carbs. I can eat all most a whole bag of popcorn(which I won't be doing again), but 2.5 oz of meat and I am totally full. Stick with the protein it's best for you.
  8. You look fabulous and so happy, what a beautiful smile!
  9. Welcome Brighteyes, you can find a lot of support and information here. Good luck with your surgery.
  10. You look beautiful, and so much younger! Hope it happens to me!
  11. Wow, wow! You look so good!
  12. omg, You look fabulous, love that side shot!
  13. Dinora you look fabulous!
  14. This is a great article hopefully it will help with the insurance issues a lot of people have.
  15. I'm almost 6 weeks out and have lost 32 lbs, I am happy with that, I never have been able to lose that much on my own. Hopefully the rest will come off too, but I know that it will be slow, I'm just a slow loser, but that's OK, I didn't put it on overnight either.

    Suddenly Sad....

I think that I may have had a day or two when I felt resentful of everyone else being able to eat when I couldn't but not really depressed. When I went to one of my pre-op counseling sessions, the leader there said that it is prefectly normal to mourn the food you are missing, it can make you feel depressed, it's like missing a part of your family. Let's face it, food is a huge part of daily life, and to most of us that are over-weight it fills in for a lot of other stuff. It's hard to let go of habits that are so ingrained, like eating when your stressed or angry. It makes you have to deal with the original emotions in stead of comforting ourselves with food. So I can understand the depression and feeling left-out while everyone is stuffing their faces. When I go out with my family now, I get my food, cut it in really small little pieces,(it lasts longer this way), and I talk, a lot more than I used to. Chin up, it does get better!

the guilt is eating me alive

I feel the same as everyone else, you didn't cause the break-up by having the surgery. I've been married for 31 years to the same guy, you have to take the good with the bad and roll with the changes. Please avail yourself of a good therapist like everyone has said, and take care of yourself, eat healthy and maybe work in a little exercise, the endorphins are good at elavating your moods.
  19. You're looking good! keep up the good work.

    Dont know what to do!

You need to give yourself credit for what you have accomplished, from what I see, you have lost 30lbs. However, no one can motivate you but you. I hate to exercise but I do it everyday because I know that it helps with the weight loss, and tightening up loose skin. It doesn't have to be a lot, start with a 10 minute walk , and then slowly add on 5 minutes until you get up to 30-45 minutes. You can do it, put on some headphones and listen to 3 of your favorite songs while walking, depending on the song this should be roughly 10 minutes. You can listen to 3 songs right? just move your feet while doing it. Give it a try. As for the protein, I found I had a hard time with the protein shakes at first but then found some EAS low carb ones that I could tolerate. Add in a protein shake, and watch that you aren't eating stuff that's not protein or veggies, or fruit. Good luck, let us know how you are doing.
  21. It will get better each day. I was just like you wondering why I did it after surgery, but it is totally worth it in the long run. You will start to feel a little better each day, and there is nothing better than to see those pounds fly off on the scale. Have faith that it will get better and good luck.Keep us posted, we are here for you.
  22. OMG, that is sooo funny. At the same time it is a great NSV, and also a wake up call for me. I need to get out there and buy some new undies(I've been putting it off too cheap!) I don't want this this happening to me!
  23. You look fantastic, and happy!! Keep it up.
  24. I understand this. I only told my Boss at work because I had to put in the time request for 2 weeks in a row, which they don't like you to do. I didn't tell anyone else at work. I have lost a total of 32 lbs so a few people have mentioned that they notice that I'm losing weight, but because it's apprx 2-4 lbs a week I don't think that it looks that dramatic. I did tell some co-workers before that I was going to a nutritionist, which of course we are, so they just think that is what is helping the weight loss. I too have heard others say that weight loss surgery is the easy way out, but for me this is the only thing that has worked to lose weight, and I tried everything else first, this was truly my last choice.
