  1. You look fabulous, congrats on your success!
  2. Hi Claire, you sound a lot like me. I too ate healthy and worked out all the time but just ate too much of the healthy stuff- I think my full switch was broken. It took me a while to decide to do this too, but... I am down 44 lbs in just over 3 months and could have never done this on my own. I am very happy with my sleeve!

    Feeling guilty

Everyone recovers at a different rate. Do not push yourself or you will set yourself back. Do what you can and don't feel guilty about hubby helping out, I'm sure you would do it for him if the tables were turned. Everyday will be a bit better, you just have to give it time.
  6. Punchy I was going to ask some of the same questions SupB asked. Do you actually track your calories and protein grams like on MFP? You would be surprised at how the calories can add up if you don't track it. I think that your exercise sounds great so there has to be something else going on. Scottsgirl is right you can be losing inches and that doesn't necessarily show up on the scale. Don't throw in the towel just yet, keep drinking the water it is crucial to your weight loss, then measure your cals/protein grams, we are here for you, let us know how you are doing. Good luck.

    Change of heart

I echo what everyone else has said. It took me 3 years to decide that I couldn't do it on my own and that I need to do the surgery. For 3 years my PCP kept asking me if I would consider WLS, but I really didn't want to have another surgery. I also tried every diet and exercise out there, let me tell you that I was a very muscular fat person. My doc said that there are just some people that do all the right things and just need a little more help, that's why she wanted me to do it. And she was right. I have lost 42lbs, I never could have done it without WLS. So take your time and ask yourself honestly if you can do it with diet and exercise alone. I couldn't and am so glad I finally gave in.
  8. You did well, I can relate as when I get stressed I used to go for a diet coke and chips. Now I have to find other ways to deal with it. Good luck.

    Reflux & the Sleeve

I had reflux before the sleeve and although my doc did cation me that it might get worse he was ok with doing the sleeve. It first it didn't seem any different but I am 3 months out now and sadly it did get worse. However, I am down 42lbs which I never could have done on my own so I'll take the trade off with the reflux. My have upped my reflux meds, it would be nice if as I lose weight it would go away.

    Difficult question to ask.

I've been sleeved since 5/14/13 and have'nt had an bathroom issues, not sure what they are talking about. Just got the results back from my blood work and everything is great. In fact I have more energy now than I did before.

    2 months post op

Hi, I'm 3 months out and actually there isn't anything on the approved list the NUT gave me that I can't eat. I can eat steak, chicken, roast pork, turkey and seafood, fish. I don't eat many carbs because they are not on the approved diet list I was given, I can eat all veggies and fruit, even salad.
  13. You're doing wonderfully, keep it up until you're satisfied, don't let others bring you down. You and your body will decide at what weight you need to be at. I think your goal weight sounds great.
  14. You look fabulous, so pretty! Congrats!
  15. My store here advertised them , but when I went to get them they were sold out. Maybe next week they sure sound good.
  16. Looks good to me, you look like a curvy girl, fits well, keep it, it will look even better later on.
  17. Sometimes it takes a while for your efforts to show up on the scale, you are losing inches and your body takes time to adjust. I understand about the stress eating, I used to do it myself, also if I was just bored. Now I have to go find something else to do besides eat. I lose slowly but it is coming off, we just have to be patient and work through the process.Good luck to you!
  18. I love chicken salad and make it several different ways, so it tastes different each time. Also make deviled eggs-which I love, I just have to hide some from my husband before he eats them all. Try to re-create some recipes that you used to like, but make them sleeve friendly. I've made chili and put it in the freezer so I can take some out whenever I want. I top it with asprinkling of shredded cheese and it's so good. I like the jerky too, turkey's my favorite!
  19. I don't know about anyone else but somedays when I am really hungry, it's because I'm stressed, I used to eat when I was stressed out. Now I take an extra serving of a dense protein(beef, chicken or turkey) with me to work. If I eat that I just can't eat anything else. What's funny is deli meat doesn't seem to have the same affect, don't know why. I get full quickly with regular roasted proteins and then I realize I'm trying to eat my stress. Don't know if this would work for anyone else but it works for me.

    Having regrets

It is worth it in the long run. The first few days are a little rough as they would be with any major surgery-which is what you had. Everyday will be a little better, and you'll feel fantastic when you see the weight coming off on the scale.

What did you eat today :) ?

3 months out: Breakfast- 2/3 c egg beaters with 1tbl salsa and 1 tsp bacon bits lunch- 2 oz roast turkey with sliced cucumbers and slice of tomato 1tlb yogurt ranch dressing snack- 1.5 oz turkey Jerky dinner- 3 oz roast pork with roasted onion & pepper slices 5 brussel sprouts snack- vanilla Protein fudge pop and of course lots of Water
  22. Congrats on your weight loss. You're doing fantastic.
  23. I agree with everyone here, go for some dense fats/oils with a little carbs thrown in. Laura-ven is right go for some mini meals but make them calorie dense. Hope you start doing better, I certainly don't have this problem. Good luck to you, let us know how you are doing.
  24. I agree with Laura-ven, I am almost 12 weeks past surgery, and we go out alot. I talk more than I used to at a meal because I'm not so busy shoveling the food in. Cut it small, chew really well, put down the fork and talk between bites. Savor the taste of the food that you can have. Remember that it's quality not quantity. The stuff that I get now I used to call "Elf food" because the portions were tiny.(They were'nt really they just looked that way to me!) So I get the more expensive cuts of meat/seafood that usually turn out to be a smaller portion but they are soooo good.
