  1. I've seen some people post that it was hard to bend over after surgery. Is this the norm? Are you not supposed to bend over for a certain period of time? My concern is that I have a house full of cats and I scoop the litter boxes every day so I have bend over for that. Am I going to need to bribe my brother to scoop the poop? LOL
  2. Thanks for the replies. Sounds like I'm going to have to bribe the bro!
  3. I have BC BS of MS and I have to do 6 months of "Active Health" before I can be approved. In the meantime, I was hoping to get all the pre-op things taken care of, but insurance won't cover any of it until I'm approved and I'm not sure the cover the pre-op stuff even after you're approved. For instance, I had to get a pulmonology clearance because I have asthma. Since I do have asthma, you'd think a trip to a pulmonologist would be covered for me, but it turns out they didn't cover anything and I'm out nearly $400. I was going to get an EKG and have blood gasses taken tomorrow, but I called and they said they wouldn't cover it. What's annoying about it is that I won't get approved before August at the earliest so I'll wind up having to take days off work for all these tests and the 4 days of pre-op classes in addition to having to take the days off work if I get to have the surgery at all. I work for a school system so it would be so convenient if I could get all this stuff taken care of before school starts again.

    Syntrax Nectar so far...

I've been using either a spoon or a blender bottle (with the metal blender ball in it) to mix the Unjury. Anything that requires the use of an electric blender is something I don't want to use.

    Syntrax Nectar so far...

I'm pre-op and trying to lose both lose weight and get accustomed to not eating real food so I'm trying to do a pre-pre-op diet using Protein shakes as Meal Replacements. I ordered a sample pack of Syntrax nectar and I just tried the Lemon Tea and I was pleasantly surprised. I really expected it to be gross, but it was drinkable. I'm from the South and sweet tea is my downfall and one of my favorite things in the world so the thought of powedered tea instead of fresh brewed was weird to me to start with. I also don't like lemon in my tea, but I found this bearable. It was much better than I expected, to say the least. I also ordered unjury powder and I have to say the Syntrax mixes up about a thousand times better than the Unjury. With the Unjury, I'm getting a lot of wasted protein because it all clumps at the top of my milk.

    Unjury chocolate splendor or classic?

Do you guys have trouble with Unjury not mixing very well? I ordered one tub and it mixed horribly and I even got a message from the company offering to replace it because so many people had complained about the mixability. They contacted me, I didn't complain to them. So I got a replacement, but it doesn't mix very well either. I feel like I'm wasting half the protein in the clumps I sift off the top of the milk.
  7. Yep, I had to take the 600 question MMPI too. I've always wanted to take that test, but OMG, I had to take a few rest breaks. I had a very brief interview with the psychologist and he kept telling me I was fine. So I got the impression that this isn't something that's taken very seriously, it's just a formality. I asked for a copy of my results to be sent to me as well as the surgical center.
  8. I'm going to try to a pre-pre-op diet as soon as I get off work for the summer (in two weeks). I want to do it to lose some weight before surgery and to get used to living on shakes so post-op won't be as much of an adjustment. I was on a liquid diet from last June through January and I lost about 23 pounds, but I've gained it all back.

    Sleevers In Jackson, Mississippi

I'm a state employee and they just started covering it this year, but you have to go through six months of "Active Care" before they'll approve it. I'm in my 3rd month of that. I'm hoping to get approved, but I don't know if I will be.

    Sleevers In Jackson, Mississippi

I'm thinking of getting the surgery and I've picked Dr. Cummings. I'm going through Transformations at River Oaks. I have BC/BS state of MS insurance so I have to jump through hoops to get approved. They wouldn't pay for gastric surgery before. I'm glad to hear good things about Dr. Cummings.

    Blue closs blue shield

I have BCBS of MS and I hope they will approve mine that quickly. Did you have to go through six months of "Active Health" coaching before you were approved? I'm having to do that so it will be fall before I can have the surgery at the earliest.
  12. I want to buy clothes in normal stores like Kohl's or even Wal-Mart. I have to buy all my shirts at Catherine's which is a plus size store. I want to fit in an airplane seat and not have people look at me like, "Please, God, don't let her sit next to me" on a plane. I want to fit in stadium/theater seats easily. I want to wear shoes other than my Z-coils. I want to be able to cross my legs. I want to look in a mirror and feel good about myself. And my dream is to fit into the jeans I wore in high school that I've kept for all these years.
  13. I'm thinking about getting a vertical sleeve, but I was wondering if I would lose weight with it since I've tried so many other diets and failed. I mean, I've been on very low calorie diets before and didn't have much success. I even tried following Weight Watchers and exercising no less than an hour a day no less than five days a week and in 5 months, I only lost 3 pounds. Comparitively speaking. I've lost 4 pounds from a stomach virus before. I've tried Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, New Lifestyle, New Directions, Atkins, Sugar-Busters, phentermine, other diet drugs. I've tried and failed at everything even following programs faithfully. Am I just hard wired to be fat? Has anyone else had a history of failed diet attempts and found success with the sleeve?
  14. What do you suggest to suck on? I didn't realize you couldn't have any Water or anything for 24 hours.
