    Sugar, bad idea

I did that too. I ate lie 3 bites of my sons birthday cake, and felt awful! So i just stay away from things with a lot of sugar. A little doesn't bother me, but i try to avoid it. Lessons learned, and you are right, all that matters is that you learned from it.

    just a little intro

I have BCBS and had to do 6 months of medically supervised dieting. basically seeing the nut for 6 months before they would even consider approving.

    just a little intro

I'm down in LaCrescent and i'm 6 weeks out. Have dropped nearly 30 lbs and and feelin' great!
  4. It will change your life! And all for the better! I'm so excited for you and can't wait to hear about your progress! It's a tough journey but well worth it and i know you can do it! on a side note, just remember that you can gain weight back with it if you eat a lot of slider foods, it's a tool not a cure. i sometimes have to remind myself of that when i want pizza, or ice cream, or other not so good for you foods. Just keep that in mind and you will do great!!
  5. happy that you are better now! I have to agree with deltadawn817 you need to at least make your font bigger, it is really tiny and very hard to read.
  6. Nope, stall is still in full effect.

    Pre-op diet...

I don't think so, but every insurance company is different. My surgery was approved before i started the pre-op things, like blood work and the final meetings. my pre-op diet consisted of 1 week of cutting way way back and eating only high protein foods. I didn't lose a pound. Good luck, and keep us updated as to how things go!!

    Behavioral health evaluation

My Evaluation was talking with the psych, why do i want to do this, why now, and the things mentioned by others above. Mostly they want to make sure you are really aware of what you are getting into and what the psychological issues after surgery can be. Like Divorce rate is higher, You may lose friends etc. I also had to do a huge questionnaire. It was like 500 questions and took about 4 hours to do, then there was a shorter 100 question one. Then meet with Psych again to go over results of said questionnaire.

    Milestone...right!

I think most of us can relate to that frustration. My Doc said though that everyone loses differently, he said that he's had some patients drop all their weight in 6 months, and others are still losing weight 2 YEARS out. I haven't lost any weight in nearly 3 weeks, and it's really starting to irritate me. Hang in there the weight WILL come off! Feel free to vent whenever the need arises. Good luck!
  10. You don't have to eat strictly traditional breakfast foods, for breakfast. If you want to have some chicken, or whatever go for it. There is no rule that says you can only eat these things for breakfast! So have whatever you feel like eating.

    Dr Ponce - complications

Yeiks! What a scary journey! I'm glad that you are finally starting to heal. just keep sipping the fluids and getting in what you can. hang in there, i'm pretty sure the worst is over for you!! It can only get better from here!! Good luck!

    Not going to happen....

Please don't give up! I'm sorry you are having such a hard time with insurance, but keep fighting! This is your life and your health, isn't it worth it? I understand that you are completely fed up fight now, so take a few days to calm down and tackle that obstacle again until they give in! You deserve it, you are worth it! Think of it this way, if you keep fighting to get it, or give up the time will still pass either way, but if you keep fighting and win, you have something to show for it in the end. Please don't give up.
  13. Oh yes! I do this all the time! Soem times i feel like i'm looking so good and slim, and then i look in the mirror naked,or with the wrong clothes on, and it's like, OMG! I look awful! I don't look like i've lost ANY weight ( i've lost about 27lbs). I know i have, because i can fit into clothes that i couldn't even come close to fitting into before, but i still feel super fat. Everyone says i'm looking good, but i guess i just don't see it all the time. You are not alone!!
  14. When i first started on solids i could eat half of 1 egg, and it kept me full for hours. I could only eat maybe 2 bites of food before i was full. Not satisfied, which is more a mental state of being, but my stomach was full and i was no longer empty feeling. As the weeks progress you will be able to eat more than just those few bites. But in the mean time it is very frustrating, because those few bites don't make you feel satisfied. Again that is the head hunger speaking. But what you have described sounds pretty normal, from the posts i've read and my own experience of reintroducing solid foods.

    Day 1 preop diet

liquid diets suck! I was one of the lucky ones who wasn't required to do a pre op liquid diet. But the 3 weeks post op one sucked so much! Just hang in there, and take it 1 mean at a time. You are going to do great!!

    Suprising offer by hubby.

My hubby and i have also both had the sleeve. He went first, as his medical issues were more pressing than mine. I got mine done 6 months after his, and he has been such a help to me!

    4 Days Post Op.....feeling tired

I agree, it sounds like you are doing just fine. I felt lethargic and very tired for the first 2 weeks, and i definitely wasn't getting all my protein or water. But at about the 3 week mark, i felt markedly improved and actually started getting some energy back.

    Not feeling full

Try eating slower? You could also talk to your nut see if they have any ideas.

    SPECIAL K CRACKER CHIPS

Will have to try some of them! It's crazy that 10 crackers seems like an awful lot, and i probably couldn't eat half of that!

    this sux

It is really hard, and it sucks big time. Best advice i have is to just take it one meal at a time. You'll get through it, the ends totally justify the means! Hang in there!!

    FRUSTRATED!

    Yup. completely understand.
  22. Congrats! That is awesome! Keep up the good work!!
  23. Think of it this way. When's the last time you lost 11lbs in 2 weeks?
  24. It isn't bad at all! The nurses do come in about every hour, or more if you need them, and all you are going to want to do is sleep. But they will be in making sure you get up and walk, and you get to take a shower ( so nice!). It isn't scary at all, it's not super quiet, even in the middle of the night. Just try to relax and enjoy being taken care of. If you are still super anxious about it when there, let them know, maybe they can give you something to help you sleep, or to relax a bit. Best of luck!
  25. There is definitely a change! You look great! how much have you lost??
