    sick!

from what i was told as long as your lungs are clear, there is really no issue. A normal cold shouldn't hinder anything. I had a minor cold on my surgery day as well, stuffy nose, little cough, kinda run down feeling. They said it was no problem.

    Full liquids

The first few weeks out from surgery, you are not going to meet your protein goals. Very few people do, as it's nearly impossible with the tiny amount of food you can eat. Just get down what you can, and try to get at least 20 grams of protein. Once your tummy heals more you will be able to get in most if not all of your protein. Just take it slow, you'll be alright =)
  3. Try not to focus so much on the number on the clothing tags. After all it's just something some people made up to make is "easier" to shop. Try to go more by how you feel. If you feel like you are happy with your weight where it is, then great! That is all that matters. Along with the others, i would recommend seeing a therapist, to help with the head issues. It can work wonders! As for your pictures, you look amazing!! there really is such a huge difference! Again, try not to get caught up in the numbers, and focus more on how you are feeling.
  4. How the op is feeling is pretty normal for most of us. I go to stay in the hospital for 2 days, Surgery Wed morning, and was home Friday morning, and most people, at least in the US, don't even get that long. It is hard, and the first week is the absolute worst, all you can do is sleep and pop pain pills lol. Would have been nice to have been cared for a little bit longer, i think it would definitely help with the recovery smoothness. Feel fortunate that you got that extra care, for you truly are lucky!

    In The 2's Whoo Hooo

Looking good!! Keep up the good work!
  6. lol i lose that much hair every time i shower! I also have super thick curly hair, but for me losing that much is normal, even before surgery!
  7. If you have the fever for a week or more, call him again, or just go in. Fever for a few days, especially low grade can just be a result of your body dealing with the surgery, but if it lasts much longer than that i'd want a second opinion.
  8. When I first started on Solid foods again my stomach did not like them, at all. The best advice i have is make sure you chew your food really really really well, and eat slowly. The baby silverware is a good idea! I might have to try that out as i still tend to eat a little to fast, but hey, it's a learning curve. If the solids are not sitting well, stick to the softer things, like yogurt and cottage cheese etc for a few more days. Everyone heals differently, so maybe your tummy isn't quite ready for solids yet. Ease your tummy into it, a bite or 2 of a soft solid, like, tuna, or canned chicken. Then the rest being a non solid, some soup or yogurt or something. Hope this helps!!

    Post op march sleevers

Ugh, i have no idea what possessed me, but it must have been something evil. I just ate a cookie. 1 single cookie and my stomach is mad at me, and said cookie will most likely be making a reappearance.

    little frustrated

Stalls are the worst, the first week is usually manageable but the subsequent weeks are just awful!! Hang in there sweetie, it'll get better!!

    SEX?

My doctor said no sex for 3 weeks, and we waited 2, i was to miserable and uncomfortable to do it before then. Like other have said, just be gentle, and you'll be just fine. No crazy Kama Sutra positions etc =)

    one week post op =)

First of all, congrats on your surgery and welcome to the losers bench!! At one week out, i'd just stick to walking for now, until you've healed some more. then, once it's allowed, swimming is one of my favorite exercises. But make sure you do strength training as well as Cardio. Gotta build those muscles up!
  13. it depends on how much weight you want to lose. If you are 350 lbs, dropping 50 lbs, while amazing, still leaves you at 300 lbs. Also the pre-op diets are pretty severe. usually liquid only, and about 500-600 calories. This is not a sustainable was of eating or living your life, it's pretty miserable in fact. The surgery is also about complete life style change, and keeping the weight off once it is lost. The sleeve is a tool to assist in that. That is the biggest thing to remember, the sleeve is a tool not a cure.
  14. I started at 272 pre sleeve. at 3 weeks out i had lost 24 lbs. at 6 weeks out ( after a 3 week stall) I had lost 30lbs. now at nearly 8 weeks out i have lost 37lbs. You have probably hit your first stall, happens to us all, and it will end, they can last from a few days to several weeks. just keep doing what you are supposed to and it will start to fall off again .

    Getting real

I flip flopped between RNY and Sleeve for a few years, mostly because sleeve wasn't covered by my insurance at the time, but i really didn't like the sound of RNY, so i waited till it finally got approved. So i started the program and even got my surgery date ( for RNY) then changed my mind and canceled it, then started the program again 6 months or so later, and backed out again. then finally the sleeve got approved and i went for it. Best thing I've ever done! You will know what is right for you, and being nervous is normal, if you weren't nervous i would say that you don't fully understand this procedure! Good luck to you, i know you'll do the right thing for you, whatever that may be.

    Post op

Awesome! glad everything went smoothly for you. Rest up and don't be afraid to use the pain meds once you are home if needed. Also sip, sip, sip! It's way to easy to get dehydrated, and trust me, that is no fun!

    Carbonation - is there any?

After 6 months, i don't think a little every now and then would hurt you. I just wouldn't make it a habit, as a lot of carbonated beverages also contain a ton of sugar. my new motto is that old saying " to all things, moderation"

    Overwhelmed!

I think most of us have had second thoughts and fears prior to our surgeries, and even after them! But it is so worth it!!! I wouldn't go so far to say it's all sunshine and rainbows, because it's not. It's very difficult, and there will be times you wonder why you did this to yourself, that you must have been crazy or something. But those moments will pass, especially once you can eat regular food again. It still seems surreal to me. Like there is no way i'm ever going to get under 200lbs, that i'll just be this way forever. It's been such a dream of mine to be a "normal" weight, and i've worked so hard that it's hard to believe it's actually happening! In 7 weeks i've lost 35lbs! My only regret is not having been able to do this sooner ( and from time to time the fact that i can't pig out on pizza ). Good luck on your journey!!!
  19. After the first year my doc only wants to see me once a year, just to make sure things are going ok. It also helps them track and identify long term successes/ failures/ complications so that future patients can make a more informed decision. I have no problem going in once a year to check in and maybe get a little blood work done. But it's really up to you. If you think you don't need or want to go anymore, then don't. But like others said, it might be a good idea to make sure your insurance doen't require it for so long after.
  20. Looking good!! Keep rocking that sleeve pretty lady!

    Depressed :(

so get a one piece swim suit, they have lots of them that help hold things in and make you look firmer. You can still show off your great new body and at the same time not feel like a flabby sack. You are having a bad day, we all do. But i have to agree with the other poster, don't you feel better? You are healthier, and also being so young, some of your skin will probably shrink up yet. And think of it this way, when you do eventually have babies, you wont have to worry about stretch marks! I know that may seem like a small consolation but trust me when the time comes, you'll be grateful! Keep your chin up and focus on the good things!!
