Post op march sleevers

wow fortunatly i haven't had any "hot flashes" but i have been craving scrambled eggs with cheese and buttered toast all day. I want that soo badly!! -
i'm only on my 4th day of the 3 week liquid diet, and it already sucks! I don't feel hungry which helps, but the smells of food or the thought of pizza rolls torture me. The physical hunger isn't the problem, it's the head hunger. for this stage my doc said i can have cocoa wheats, cream of wheat, cottage cheese things like that, which helps give some texture and semblance of "normal food". I use the cream Soups and add seasoning to them to get the flavor and that helps satisfy as well. We just have to take it one day at a time! As my husband said to me eariier today "Happy Hunger Games!" ( i wanted to kick him) so to that i add, "May the odds be ever in our favour!"

I just showered for the first time today as well. Boy was that exhausting! I was able to get through all of it and with out help, but afterward i had to pop a pain pill and take a break for a few hours. Feeling better now. so great that you have such support, it's soo important! The weight loss is awesome though i agree! I was 272 when i went in for surgery and today i'm 263! -
oh man, i am 4 days post op and i would LOVE to cheat and actually chew something! A piece of toast, or those burritos sound amazing! Don't feel to badly though, i cheated the night before my surgery, and ate half a medium pepperoni pizza from my favorite pizza place in town. I know it was a bad choice, but i'm kind of glad that i did, especially knowing that i CANNOT cheat now and have to be saintly. So i think i got it out of my system! These liquid diets are really hard!!

Surgery Tomorrow 3\11 what to bring to the hospital

they do provide you with tooth brush and paste, and soap and shampoo for showering, but you could take your own if you like. I took some pajamas to change into after the first day. Was so much more comfortable! Also, i'd take your own pillows with. Good Luck! -

This is my second full day home from the hospital and my pain is a lot less today. It was really only bad when standing up or sitting down but today it is so much better! I can stand up without gasping in pain and holding my stomach, so that's a nice improvement. The biggest challenge for me has been getting enough water in, so that is going to have to be my focus today. Just wish it would stop raining out so i could go for a walk outside! Keep up the good work everyone! We can do this!! -

pretttybird, i know what you mean! My husband also had the VSG back in October ( he is down 70lbs!!) so he knows exactly what i'm going through. He is super supportive and tries to help as much as he can,but it's not much consolation when he can eat and run around, and i'm sipping broth and struggeling to walk back and forth across the house lol. He keeps reminding me that the first week is the worst though. So heres to getting through the first week!! -

I was sleeved on the 6th, today has been my first full day home. the transition from sitting to standing hurts but then it's not so bad. My biggest challenge by far has ben having to smell all the foods that my husband and 5 year old son are eating while i sip my broth( which tastes good, but not as good as their chicken, pizza, whatever smell). I also can't laydown fully in bed yet as it hurst to much, so i've been sleeping on the reclining couch. I hope that in the next few days the pain will lessen enough to let me go to bed!
