Just looking for a pep talk!
LiggleLiggle replied to girlrfriday's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have read several times on VST that people seem to stall at their "stable" weights in life and for me it was true. I am at my "old" lowest band weight and have been for 3 weeks. I just keep plugging away, changing my calorie intake some days and exercising more. -

Are crackers ok?
LiggleLiggle replied to krystalt313's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said no crackers the first year or goal whichever come first. He said mainly it is because the crackers swell up and you have no room. For the foods that are a priority. As everyone else will tell you, do what your doctor tells you though -
It has saved my life, and it can save your's!

I went from 6 daily meds to one in just a month! The one left is cymbalta and more for feet pain than depression! -
is it just me.. and when?
LiggleLiggle replied to sleevedtelley321's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I craved a salad for weeks before I could have one (6 weeks) and it is my favorite meal which is such an improvement over ice cream being my favorite thing . I had the band for almost 6 years and could eat no salad so now i am digging them! -
sleeved 5/10 feeling great..
LiggleLiggle replied to villa2924's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Take each step slowly. It can be overwhelming but know that it gets better and the payoff is priceless! -
I have something to say!
LiggleLiggle replied to Determined_Me's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Whatever works is my motto. If I have learned nothing else since my revision, with the sleeve it is extremely individualized! Besides your post brings to mind a scripture"he whom is without sin, cast the first stone". I have no desire to be stoned -
march 2013 sleevers
LiggleLiggle replied to Determined_Me's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
As you can see from my signature, I was a reversion and I have not only slowed but have gained a little. I started exercising on a schedule on monday so I know I need to increase my calories to loose but that is difficult to do when I am never hungry and hope to never see a protein drink again:) -
I am not supposed to weigh at home. At first it was difficult but now I am used to it. Everyone's weight can go up and down so once a month is good measurement. I have read where some people have their spouse hid their scales

When can you drink again?
LiggleLiggle replied to MK1986's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just remember, whatever you drink needs to count towards your daily calorie intake. I, myself, would rather get my food by chewing instead of drinking and that is what my dr. Advised. -
too much time off!
LiggleLiggle replied to sheree212's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had band removal, hernia repair and the sleeve and had planned on a week off but ended up with two weeks off except for a small amount. Of work from home. I still tire easily after 7 weeks so I would suggest that you plan on lots of rest time after you return to work. -
I was told prenatal gummy vitamins would help and also putting coconut oil in your hair, saturating it well and leaving in for 30 minutes and then wash as usual. Also like some already said, the less product the better and try not to use clips bands, etc. I lost a LOT with my Lapband but didn't have this information. Good news is it did all grow back.

I was allowed to swim or walk at 2 weeks.

ladies just a suggestion
LiggleLiggle replied to tlah's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't even think once about how I looked. I didn't even put in my false teeth until the day I went home. I had a revision and hernia repair so I wasn't allowed out of bed. I will tell that I am 62 years old also so I allowed myself some leniency -
4 days out.....Why am I so hungry?!
LiggleLiggle replied to bradycone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My stomach makes terrible growling noises as my food makes its way into and through . I am 7 weeks out and have had no actual hunger at all. Head hunger, now that ugly demon just needs to go away! -
Yes, what she said . You will do great. Stick with this forum and learn all you can!

I would just mention, and by no means intending to scare you, but a lot of us were on an emotional roller coaster until everything settled some so you might have the help to shield the children a bit
