Hey loves.... What do you guys think about this?

Ok yall...I'm an Instagram newbie. I found the page where you can log in, but I can't find the page where you initially register for it. Any help will be greatly appreciated! -
Somehow I think that you need to be consistent. They usually ask the same question multiple times in a different way. If you answer them the same I think you are safe, unless your answers are really out there!

Mine was a one hour talk with the psychologist, and a one hour questionnaire. Yes, some of those questions on the questionnaire were a bit flaky, like would you ever bend the law? Hello....yes, most everyone has run a red light when the yellow cut off a bit too quickly. There are also other special circumstances where the law might not be the best thing for the time. There was no explanation on whether the law broken was a felony or not. I had trouble with these types of questions, because I take them so literally. I said that yes, I would bend the law. Anyway, I passed the eval.

Sleep Problems After Menopause
Rena's got this replied to Need-a-Sleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have trouble sleeping also, but it is getting better. I've been to a sleep study, and I'm getting my CPap machine next week. That will help even more I'm sure. My PCP prescribed Ambien for me, but after the first night, it worked less and less. After the 3rd pill, I stopped taking it, as it stopped working. What I found that really helps is kind of embarrassing to admit, and I'm not sure I can continue it after I'm sleeved, but if I'm awake after midnight, a small bowl of Lucky Charms with 2-3 tablespoons of sugar with 1% milk will put me right out. I think this works because after the initial sugar high, your blood sugar drops dramatically, hence you get sleepy. -

Dang it! I completely spaced out this afternoon and missed my nutritional appointment. I was waiting a whole month for it! -

Yes, same as you, Dr. Turton. I went to one of his seminars last year, but it wasn't a good time for me to consider it. This year, I contacted his office instead of going through another seminar. I've had my initial appointment with him and have completed the psych exam and a sleep apnea exam (moderate to severe apnea). My nutritional class starts this Thursday. I haven't yet talked to my PCP about it, and am hoping that she agrees. -
Hi everyone.... I'm from Auburn, AL, but my surgeon is going to be Dr. Wes Turton from West Georgia Medical Center. Has anyone used him or know of him? His office is in LaGrange, GA.

Hi.... I'm from Auburn. I haven't been sleeved yet, but have been working on some of the insurance requirements. -
I was checked for sleep apnea and it appears that I have it ...moderate to severe. One more check of my list of co-morbidities for BCBS. I actually can't wait until I get my CPap machine. I'm sure I'll feel a lot less tired during the day. Next... nutritionist appointment next Thursday.

Anyone have 6 month diet waived by insurance?
Rena's got this replied to hurley911's topic in Insurance & Financing
I'm working on the pre-surgery requirements, but from what I understand, Alabama still requires the 6 month physician attended weight loss requirement. I really hope that changes, but in the meantime I've gotta get it started. I just finished a sleep study, and I have pretty severe sleep apnea, but I don't think that will change the requirement for the 6 month diet. -

Are you talking about BCBS of ALABAMA? If so...this gives me hope. -

Soooooo many requirements!

Did my sleep apnea test last night. I couldn't drop off to sleep until around 3:30. They woke me up at 6am to go home. The technician was really nice. He told me that he thought I might have restless legs syndrome because my legs would twitch and that seemed to be keeping me awake. He also told me that I did have sleep apnea and I'd get my official results in 2-3 days. Lordy. I'm so tired right now. It took me a while to get all the gunk out of my hair from the electrodes this morning when I went home. -
I wish the insurance people would use this as a co-morbidity! It is taking me sooo long to go through all the requirements. Knee pain really is disabling. This morning, I nearly fell in the bathroom because of it. Getting out of the bathtub, I couldn't lift my knee high enough to clear the side of the tub. I tripped, and thankfully grabbed the sink to prevent a really nasty accident.

I had a knee injury last August. I finally went to a orthopedist who did some tests and determined that I had torn my meniscus which is a buffer between your thigh bone and your lower leg bone. He said it might eventually stop hurting, and if I could live with it, I might not have to have surgery. Six months later, I had enough. It never did stop hurting, and I was limping a lot. After having surgery in December, I've lost the original pain, since he trimmed the torn part and took it out, but I'm still having pain in that knee, to the point where I still can't straighten it out all the way, and it still hurts to walk, and aches at night when I am in bed. I'm hoping that when I eventually have this surgery and lose weight, that the pain will diminish, otherwise, I'm not sure what I'll do about exercising. I used to love to walk, but can't hardly walk much over a block or two these days. Like you, I'm sure I've put on more weight because of the lack of exercise.

I was addicted to diet coke for decades, but could get by with one a day. I changed to diet Mountain Dew because I heard that lighter colored soft drinks were better for you. Now that my work place has installed a Water and ice machine, I don't even drink Mountain Dew. I've effectively weened myself off of soft drinks altogether, and don't miss them. I haven't been sleeved yet, and am just starting the 6 month dietary requirement. So glad this is one less dietary habit I have to worry about losing during this process. -
Worries about my surgery and life changes that need to be made.

Even when I could, I hated running, but I did it. It has been one of the only ways I was able to keep my weight down. I actually got down to 130 in the 1980s by running 7 miles 3 times a week, but I couldn't keep it up. Now I don't run at all, and like you, can't even do a few steps. I live in a college town, and watching all these young folks jogging around the neighborhood makes me realize that I do want to be able to run again. I couldn't imagine I would ever want to do that again...until I couldn't do it. -
I had mine last week, and everything went well also. The one thing that I freaked at was when he asked me the name of our current president, and I totally drew a blank! I had to remember his first name, before I could pull up his last name. Then he asked me the name of the previous president...lol. I could only say.... "Bush...the younger one". He still approved me, after chuckling a little.

how to deal with "non-supporters"
Rena's got this replied to hopeliveshere's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh that sounds just awful. I know I couldn't do it. I don't like milk at all, except in a bowl of Cereal. I'm hoping I can just get by with the Protein drinks. -

Knocked out my psych eval today. The doc was very supportive and told me that I was an ideal candidate in his mind. He told me that in two weeks he would forward his report to my surgeon. Nice... Cost me $100.00 in co-pay, but if all goes well, it'll be worth it. -
You could be right....I can see a husband possibly hiding things away, dragging things around, and getting frisky....
