    Frustrated

Ok so im moving from puree to soft foods. Been eating some Furina with about a half teaspoon of brown sugar and a tiny bit of margarine. Lunch ive been having some no bean chili and I put a couple oyster crackers and a pinvh of sharp cheddar. All these things ive tolerated well. My question is if I eat till I feel full I get a weird discomfort just below my rib cage. If I back off a spoon or two I get hungry like 5 minutes later. Ugh. Any suggestions?
  2. When did everyone start seeing a physical change? I was sleeved April 16th but I dont really see any changes yet
  3. I suppose you can smuggle in some sugar free candy
  4. I started in december at 409. Day of surgery I was 370. At my 2 week (around a week ago) I was at 347. My surgeon told me I had 19% loss which was more than expected but "I'll take it" were his exact words. Starting the gym this week to get it all going.
  5. Bookoo I wouldnt. Just think its still not good for you. You had the surgery to get rid of bad habits. Why not take them all out in one swoop? Make the complete change. You can do it.
  6. We share the same date and im close to finishing the prerequisites so I can enter nursing school. Good luck!!!!!
  7. I never judge although I will say that I myself am 15 months quit away from them and will never go back. I made a personal decision to not let a 4" piece of paper cardboard and garbage tell me what to do. I would though want to encourage you though to stay off if youve gone that far. Its just not worth it. Do I miss it sometime? Yes. Do I miss eating a whole pizza in a sitting? Yes. Would I ever do those things again. Absolutely not. Im in it for the long haul to feel and actually be healthy. Hence the surgery I did on April 16th. I believe you can do it. Stay strong

    Sharp pains in left side

I had something similar 2 days after discharge. It ended up being a stich and a degradable piece of gauze that the got stuck in between my stomach and spleen. Non the less I wouldnt play around and I would take the ride to the er. I did and ended up staying overnight. Best decision not only for my own piece of mind but the pain mamagement at the hospital is 10000 times better for you. Good luck but as a 17 year veteran medic I would say play it safe and get checked.
  12. So I had my 2 week visit today and got to move onto puree foods. The most exciting thing was to learn that I am @ 19% loss and down to 347 from my start weight of 409. WooHoo
  13. Can't stand the fact that my wife will sit next to me with a huge bag of chips and munch away. She didn't want me to have the surgery in the first place. This post op diet sucks I want food. I knew it was coming but I thought it would be a bit easier. I feel grumpy today and just want to have something other than protein shakes and sugar free pops. What have I done? It doesn't even seem like I've lost any weight. Feeling like I made a mistake and I can't go back now.

    Losing will power fast

Thanks everyone I appreciate the support more than you'll know. My wife noticed my bad mood and asked so I told her I felt like a recovering alcoholic babysitting friends at a bar supping a water. She understood and cuddled so doing a bit better now. I ate about a teaspoon of creamy peanut butter and that seemed to stop the cravings
  22. I dont understand why im so hungry. Im 12 days postop and feel like I cant get full. Im taking in 70g of protein and about 60oz. of fluids. I cooked some burgers on the grill for my wife and kids and almost said to hell with it and took a bite. I didn't so dont worry. I just dont know what else to do to satisfy me. I was fine until a day or so ago and cant shake this hunger. Any ideas? I have my 2 week postop on the first. Hope it gets me some puree and I can get some satisfaction. I have to keep looking for puree ideas. I feel like instead of getting easier its getting harder. Ugh
