This is beyond sad, as overweight women (I've experienced this and have seen it with many others) we cling on to anyone that shows us any type of attention because attention for us is rare. In countries like New Zealand, Australia and the US overweight women aren't considered attractive where as in places like the Caribbean and Latin American overweight women are admired. I can see how being shown all this attention would cloud someone's judgement if they aren't use to getting that type of attention before. When your self-esteem is low, it's easy to give up the booty to the first "I love you" that you hear. As someone that lived in different parts of the world, I've seen over and over again where local men who "hype" foreign women up just to get some booty knowing that in a week or two they'll never have to see that female ever again. I feel really bad for the OP, for all we know she and her family could be in serious danger. She's dealing with people who obviously have money and power in a foreign country and would do anything to protect their reputation. They have all her information and I can bet my life she knows nothing about this doctor other than his name and what his sex is like....This is some serious ****. No one in their right mind would do anything like this. There's a reason to her madness I'm sure. I think she needs to just stay off the net for a while and change her name and protect her womanhood a lil better next time.

Idk about anyone else but going to sonic to get ice...post op would be very trying for me lol I bet you the aroma of them hot dogs would've never smelled so lovely ever.

L-glutamine ... My mom use to get horrible horrible cramps. She would wake up screaming and crying. It was horrible. The day she started taking L-glutamine the cramps stopped! When she finished the bottle, they came back. Started a new bottle-they stopped. This was recommended by an oncologist for Charlie horse type cramps

I'm really glad to see this topic! On my supervised diet, I lost 31 pounds and my last weigh in was may 28th. Since then I feel like I can't stop eating, I have gained 2 pounds. It's messing me up mentally. I have a few more days until I get an approval (or denial) and for some reason the longer I wait the more I eat and the more I feel bad about it. It sucks!! Today I'm fasting....water and broth to gather my thoughts. I do not know what will happen to me if I don't have this surgery. I get scared thinking about it.

How exciting! Is this someone that knows you've been sleeved? What are you going to wear? Where/what are you guys gonna go/ do?

So my patient coordinator emails me and says they received everything but they need a letter of clearance from my hematologist. They never told me to see a hematologist! I asked them if it was safe for me to have the sleeve because I have hemoglobin sc which is a type of sickle cell anemia and all they said was yes, the surgeon said its fine. Being the worry bug that I am, I decided to go see a hematologist anyway well because I needed to know more about what I have and to make sure I was good to go. So she emails me on Monday asking for a letter but my first appointment with the hematologist wasn't until Thursday. Yesterday. I'm thinking to myself...it's a good thing I took it on myself to see this guy because if I waited til they told me to see one, I would have to wait 7-10 days get a referral then another 1-2 weeks to make an appointment. Low and behold, the letter that my hemo sent on thursday wasn't sufficient and my insurance company needed a more detailed letter by today! Friday or my case would be closed! The hematologist's office was closed today.... And so is my freaking case. Unbelievable!

I intend on appealing, it's just annoying that I could have avoided this had they told me I needed clearance from the hematologist. I had the referral for at least a month now. I would have taken care of it earlier.

I make a smoothie with activia yogurt, frozen strawberries, fresh bananas, almond milk, a handful of almonds and about 2-3 spoons of flaxseed...makes me poop within an hour or so AND it's beyond delicious!!

Congrats on your surgery, glad you're ok and it sounds like your getting better, good luck on your journey and oh...don't go crazy wasting money on those skin tightening creams, I've heard from several people that it can get very costly and doesn't prevent or improve sagging skin. I feel like some of us stop buying weight loss pills but replace it with skin tightening cremes. And look where that got us lol. Save your money.

That my surgery date is August 4th, how weird is that?!?! I feel like all I think about is this surgery and now I am having dreams about it too. The weird thing is I'm not even finished with my supervised diet yet lol. I did all the other testing already. May 28th (my bday) is my last weigh in for the supervised diet. How weird would it be if aug 4th is my surgery date lol. I hope not b/c that's entirely too far away. I'm aiming for the end of June!

I had to fast 12 hours before hand :-( I did mine in December before I decided to do this surgery.
