Start journaling everything you eat. Make your meals in advance so that you just have to pull them out and heat. Think about how far you have come and how you don't want to go back. Good luck!

Anyone else sensitive to artificial sweeteners?
Iniysa replied to gibson_girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't think I was a sugar addict until I got rid of soda and caffeine. After the caffeine withdrawal was over, I suddenly wanted candy and lot's of it. I don't like candy all that often, until now! Now I am having to stop that too. Sigh... -
Anyone else sensitive to artificial sweeteners?
Iniysa replied to gibson_girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not sensitive to artificial sweeteners, I just can't stand the taste. Sigh, I am just going to have to get used to it or steer clear of sugar all together as much as possible. -
Hope you feel better soon! I've lived with my mom's severe depression so even though I work hard not to let it get to me, I do understand.

I do use Skype a lot. It does go through your internet or Wifi. Just make sure you call someone elses Skype or it costs.

Why can't you just use your cell phone normally? I sit with my friend at the hospital at least once a month and neither of us have had any problems talking on our phone. Will you not be near a tower?

Good for you!!

Got approved--now it's "real"
Iniysa replied to nervousnellie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Either my doc submitted my application today or they will do it Monday. It's true, I have done all of this pre-stuff, and yet it won't be real until I am approved. -
That would be nice. I just finished my three month insurance stuff. Now I am waiting for the insurance to get back to me. A lot of insurances require a referral to go to any specialist. You will probably be scheduled an appointment at the center with your doc and someone to take you through the process based on the requirements made by your insurance. You will then be referred to other specialist from there (Yout NUT etc). Let us know!

Wondering if the doc actually operated
Iniysa replied to bradau's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'll cross my fingers for you as well. -
I keep sleeping through the Bootcamp classes. Do they have to make them so early? If they were 10-11am classes I would not have a problem, but I work night shift and there is not a lot that can wake me from 6-9am. LOL! So, for now; I will continue my midnight laps in the pool.

Welcome to the group! It seems that usually if your BMI is lower then 40, but you DO have medical issues due to your weight, that you will probably be approved anyway. Let us know how it goes!

Almost 6 months post sleeve and recieved a letter from insurance wanting me to join a casemanagement program?
Iniysa replied to hmscott09's topic in Insurance & Financing
Not sure what a case management program is. But I have BCBS TX as well, so I am interested in their practices. -
BCBS of TX cover TT or panni?
Iniysa replied to SophieJaneB's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Call them up. Some will cover if there is a medical reason. IE rashes from skin rubbing on skin etc. When you find out, please let me know! I have BCBS TX as well. -
Last Nutritionist Visit - Complete!
Iniysa replied to Iniysa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you!! -
So today was my last NUT visit!! My nutritionist asked if he could use me as an example for someone who has worked hard to change my life style before surgery. He also said that my write up for my insurance will be easy because he has nothing but great things to say. He was telling me that a lot of the people he sees think this surgery is a magic pill and refuse to change their bad habits before the surgery. Then he sees them again after because there choice of surgery is not working out for them like they want. So with a great review from both my Nutritionist and Psychologist I am on to submitting my application for VSG to my insurance!!! Wish me luck!

Low White Blood Cell Count
Iniysa replied to loveit1222's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine has only ever been high. -
I've heard about this. Depends on the price, really.

Have you thought about going to Mexico? Most self paying people on here go and come back with nothing but great things to say. Research it, ask questions. It might be a good route for you. In the meantime, welcome to the site!!

The whole skin topic freaks me out. Out of everything this surgery will entail, it's the flabby skin that scares me. LOL! Since insurance does not cover plastics (That I know of), the only way I could afford plastic surgery would be if I won the lottery. (Sigh)

Uggghhh...I Can't Decide Between Self Pay and VA Procedure
Iniysa replied to cerenatee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would go to the VA as well. It would be tough giving up a sooner date though, but I would just have to grin and bare it. They will cover everything and the time will fly by. Finish school without having to re-learn how to live at the same time. Good luck!
