The pain for me was worse than I expected. I was super nauseous for 36 hours. Turns out I was intolerant to the medicines they had me on. Now I'm on something new and feel pretty good! Not hungry at all!

I can't believe I finally get to say/think "my surgery is THIS week"! Wed to be exact. So excited! Today was my first day on clear fluids only. Been doing (eeer, attempting) full liquids for the last 7 days. Today was better than expected. The SF Italian Ice are super yummy. Also made some loose leaf tea, had some broth, water, cup of apple juice, and I'm allowed black coffee with sugar substitute. Honestly had a lot of energy. Felt good. I'm so excited!!! No doubts at all and very little nerves. Anyone else out there ready to go?!?!

Ok, so you'd think the class and booklet would have been much more specific considering we're a bunch of obese over-eaters who don't have all that much restraint or nutrition knowledge. I'm on my liquid diet. 7 days full liquids and the last 3 are clear only. They said your "cream" soups are fine the first week. Sooo.... broc and cheese soup? Potato soup? I need specifics. I am starving and hate to admit I totally cheated day 1 & 2 bc I got so hungry and head aching and weak that I caved. I can't do that again. Surgery is a week from tomorrow. Help???

I'm so ready! I'm not at all nervous...just ready to get it done! This is day 2 of my pre op diet. Ashamed to say I have def cheated. But me and my brain had a little "come to Jesus" meeting tonight and we're gonna be good starting tomorrow. Good luck to everyone.

Pre Op Liquid Diet. Help!
mandersue replied to mandersue's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, see they did tell us to not have more than 2 protein shakes per day. She said cream soups are ok first 7 days then its broth only the last 3. I could take so much liberty in that statement so I just wanted to make sure. I've been looking around and seems like there's quite a few different pre op diets. My aunt's good friend is a bariatric surgeon and he said a main point of the pre op diet is to test the patient's ability to change their lifestyle bc he's seen so many people have surgery and go eat crazy afterwards and get sick. Of course there's the very valid fatty liver point as well. Ah, I'll survive -
I'm march 20! Start my liquid diet Monday. Just enjoying a few last days of freedom Soooooooo excited!

Hey y'all. This is my first post! I went for my final dr appt today and this appt was the one you schedule your surgery. I've been told at every appt that on the day you schedule it will be 6-8 weeks until your surgery. Weeeeeellp, the nurse came in and said "how's march 20?"... My jaw dropped. I'm so stoked that I don't have to be fat much longer! Now to decide on my last few meals before the liquid preop diet I'm so excited!

Congrats! I'm sure you'll do great!!!

Congrats! I'm sure you're feeling all the emotions as me right now! I'm wanting to lose 80-85. I'm not as heavy as a lot of sleevers. Im starting at 205 but I'm only 28 and have some health issues which keep me from losing on my own. Figured why stay miserable and wait to gain more? So here we go!
