March 2013 Sleevers... What are you eating?
QueenBusyBee replied to LaserSkinGirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello! I was sleeved March 6, 2013. Surgery weight was 221 my current weight as of today is 179 total lost of 42 so far, no stalls. I pretty much eat a well balanced diet, for breakfast (protein shake, oatmeal or egg whites w/ almonds) Lunch (salad with lean protein, I still do not eat red meat or pork and dont intend to) Snacks (greek yogurt, string cheese, fresh fruit/fresh veggies, pickles) Lots of water Dinner (protein shake or leftover lunch) I do eat bread and sweets and starch very moderately and only maybe once or twice a week... for the most part it's a clean diet, work out 5 times a week... and seeing great results.... -
I have lost 34 pounds since my surgery, boobs havent gone anywhere still in same cup size of DD I was wearing 38 now i am a 34.. Hoping they go down at least to a nice D... I wouldn't like my body to look unproportioned ... but we'll see boobs always do whatever they want to do....

Backhanded Compliment from Husband?!
QueenBusyBee replied to MsVictorious1020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't put too much thought into it. Men a lot of the times say things without actually processing it, but it doesnt mean that thinks you weren't pretty before im sure he's just amazed at the difference that he's seeing before his eyes and maybe even wondering what you will look like later on. Dont let your mind play games with you, you are beautiful =) stay motivated! -
Exercise as we all know helps in all areas of the body... I think to really notice changes around your mid section try eating really clean foods lots of fruits and veggies nothing processed, then if you can wear some sort of shapeware so that the body starts shaping ideally it'll help a lot... I do all 3 and 3x a week I get massages around my mid section and back (fat burning) hurts like hell i then sleep with a girdle overnight...my waist is definitely smaller and flatter....

I would say try to stay away from starch during the early stages... it takes up too much space while eating not letting you ingest a good amount of Protein and does not provide the nutrients necessary...

Great! Let me know how it turns out!! :-D

I made this for lunch today and had to share it was so delicious.. If youre at the stage where you can eat shrimp and veggies this is perfect. Take 1/2 lb-1 lb jumbo peeled and devined shrimp (depending on how many servings you wanna make) 1lb makes about 4-5 1 red bell pepper 1 tomato (large) 1 squash 1 zucchini 1 Avocado 1-2 garlic cloves 1 shallot Olive oil Salted sweet cream butter Peppercorn Mince the garlic and shallot. Dice the red bell pepper, tomato, zucchini and squash to bite size not too small for texture. In a deep dish place your shrimp add sea salt, black peppercorn, garlic powder, paprika. Let marinade in for a few minutes. Preheat skillet and add a tablespoon of olive oil once its hot stir in garlic and shallot mix until garlic browns a little (1-2 min). Stir in red bell pepper mix for a minute, add tomato stir for another minute and add rest of veggies. Cook veggies for about 4 min toss in tablespoon of butter, keep stirring. Toss in shrimp until cooked thoroughly add sea salt and peppercorn to taste. Place a bed of sliced avocado on a plate and put your shrimp on top. Voila! Enjoy!

Post op 6 weeks what food... What daily food you guys eat everyday?
QueenBusyBee replied to Lina12's topic in Food and Nutrition
This Wednesday will be my 4 week post op.. my daily routine is the following Breakfast: EAS Protein shake with skim milk with about half of cup of fruit (strawberries, bananas, papaya, mango) whatever I have a taste for that day Snack 1: a cup of fruit or vegetables (fresh, not canned or in syrup) Lunch: Cup of Soup (vegetable, chicken noodle, clam chowder) eat everything expect starch. Or grilled fish salmon is by far the best.. I can only have about 2 ounces at one sitting so I always split my lunch in half and have the rest for dinner (hubby helps out too) lol... Snack 2: Mozzarella or cottage cheese and raw veggies (cucumber, asparagus, bell pepper) Pre work out: as much Water as I can drink.. Post work out: EAS Protein Shake -
Yeah I can understand the concern.. I felt the same way... honestly i think you can wear one size for longer than a couple of months thats how tight they are.. I know a tailor here that can take it in and make it smaller once I need too.. maybe you can try that? Or maybe look for a cheaper one elsewhere.. I highly recommend wearing one. Im low BMI too.. and loose skin is my biggest fear... Good luck with everything...

No... 2 weeks post op and I did not get drained or staples.. I think it depends on how the surgeon works... I would ask him about any drain or staples.... -
