Any March Sleevers?

My husband had the surgery last march and had chronic nausea and stomach spams. He took zoforan and valium. That helped. He also took sulfonamide (sp?) and reglan. Now he just takes protonix twice a day 40mg -

Hi all Had my pre op tests today - all clear - its starting to hit me that this is real. getting butterflies in my stomach - hopefully my surgeon will remove those too Melinda1 - my kids used to cry when i got my hair cut. they are young and like stability and routine - think of how many more years you will have with them because you are healthy - and you'll be able to play with them more because you'll have more energy and be able to move better - it's a gift you are giving them - don't feel guilty even for a second! -

I'm so ready - this diet is so hard - I don't want to diet, I want the surgery!! Nevertheless, I did pretty good today - I'm down a whole 3.5lbs after a week - sigh I'm loving the SpedialK K2O Water - 5 grams Protein and 5 grams Fiber, no yucky aftertaste - I wonder what a Popsicle made from it would be like? My pre-op tests are Thursday morning - praying for no surprises. I got the call from the complication insurance company today too - things are moving along. -

Anyone having problems telling others?
SunshineGirlG replied to TTL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It really is an individual decision. If you tell people they can help and support - but they can also judge and belittle. I'm not planning on telling people. I've watched my husband who had the surgery a year ago and is open about it. People say things that imply that he took the easy way out or was too weak. That really pisses me off - this isn't the easy way out at all. I'm not going to tell people because its none of their business and I don't want to open myself up to judgement. If I have a hysterectomy I wouldn't tell people - why is this any different? you have to do what you feel comfortable with. -

Hi Melinda1, I think its great that your surgery led to finding your heart murmur - now you can get treated and take care of the issue. My husband has a heart murmur and had the surgery a year ago - there were no complications and he's lost over 100 pounds and significantly reduced the number of medications he takes. Lots of people have heart mumurs, they have surgery all the time and are fine. You are going to do great and add years to your life because of this. I'm scared too, but try to get my mind off as much as possible. Maybe you could treat yourself to a massage or go see a movie or something else you like to do. Hang in there!!
