Madigan Hospital post-op diet
Mousesmom replied to RevisionReally's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will all depend on your surgeons instructions. Everyone is different. For 2 weeks post I could have broth. Strained cream soups, popcicles, water, crystal lite or s.f. Drink mix, strained yogurt..no chunks and my protein drinks. Check with the surgeons office to see if there is a nut you could meet with -
Diacouraged ... Gained a pound
Mousesmom replied to Denn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Relax. Your body is adjusting. It will do all kinds of strange things now. I am 47 down and regularly gain a pound or two then lose it and a couple of their friends and then repeat. -
I am here. Posted a few times but didnt get a response ( think it was when everyone was moving to facebook). My vsg was March 18. Its been an up and down process for me. Literally. I lose 1, gain 2, lose 2, lose 1, etc... So far its 29 lbs since surgery. 47 total since the process began. I feel good but have found skinny people must not sit or sleep much because my butt and hips hurt whenever I try to sleep or sit :-)

What to have ready...
Mousesmom replied to superstarsandi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Premeir protein. Find it at costco or on Amazon. I made my own broth. Sugar free jello and pudding. Sugar free popcicles, I also got sugar free fudge bars. Some sugar free drink packets or crystal lite. Bring a pillow for your ride. I did for my 50 minute ride but didnt really need it. The hospital gave me small barf bags and a anti nausea shot for the ride home. -
Needing some advice...
Mousesmom replied to TheNewSusie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may want to relax and wait a bit before continuing your weight loss efforts. Your body is trying to heal from your accident. Its diverting energy for those repairs. My thought is you may not heal well if you try to restrct more calories or increase exercise. Your body can only do so much with its limited stores. Just my thoughts.. -
When can we drink soda
Mousesmom replied to amielou26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had a diet soda. Its on my list of things that are ok. Do i drink a bottle? No. I bought a 20 oz and then had a sip or 2 over 6 days. I just wanted something different. I found its not very comfortable to drink very much at a time for me. I also used to be a 2 liter a day drinker of diet soda. I do not want to start that habit again. But thats my experience. It may not be yours. I have moved on to a sparkling water from safeway that is 0 everything and yummy! -

Mousesmom replied to lovedlov's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My daughter had a doughnut yesterday in the car. It was so overwhelmingly sweet smelling I had to roll down the window. I am almost 8 weeks out and was so surprised. It hadnt happened before. -
I am 6 weeks out and have the same pain. My gallbladder was removed last year.

Any March Sleevers?
Mousesmom replied to futuresleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was very lucky and had no issues with my insurance company. My surgery is scheduled for monday morning. I have been doing the 2 protein drinks ans 1 meal since monday. Tomorrow is the magnesium citrate and clear liquids. Same for sunday. I am so excited and a bit disbelieving its here. :-) -
I am walking. A friend and I do about a mile and a half each day. We split it between our breaks. I have to get in shape for the gas relieving circuits around the hospital. :-)

Chapstick, toothpaste and toothbrush, loose pair of jammie pants and a t-shirt for ride home, my cpap(required). My phone & charger, a brush and deodorant. I am considering baby wipes, listerine melts and a book. -
Now I know why I'm doing this.
Mousesmom replied to rickster7753's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 51. I also want to do things in my life. I have already had back surgery. I have 2 bulges and would like to avoid another back surgery. My family also has genetic knee issues. I want to delay the knee surgery as long as I can. Even when i get under 200. -

March sleevers anyone?
Mousesmom replied to Jennifer616's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Everyone. I have been checking out this sight for a few weeks while I move through the process. Last thursday I finally got my date. March 18th is my day. I am very excited and more than ready to do this for ME. In the last few years I was stuck in repeat mode. Maybe my own groun hogs day :-) I would exercise then hurt so bad I couldnt exercise for a few days. I am talking walking here. So i would not exercise, so I didnt hurt. I am now down 15 lbs while moving through the insurance process. I walk 5 days a week. 2 times a day with a bypass vet. I just want all to know its been inspiring to follow all of your posts.
