    Okay...thanks, Amanda!

    Large sleeve!

Okay....I'm stumped....what is a bougie and why do we care what size it is?

    how long to eat?

I would try to finish my meal in 30 mins. Prolonging the meal will only decrease your fluid time. I'm 10 weeks out and can only eat about 2 oz. of protein at any sitting. Any more than that and I feel very uncomfortable.

    Losing will power fast

She may be feeling somehow threatened by the beginning of your new journey. Hang in there...the days and diet stages actually go by rather fast. And while those chips may look good...they're simply a symbol of how we got to where we are.

    Hello its me jen.

Welcome! This is a great place to find information and support. Good luck with your journey.
  6. I found the two weeks before surgery and the two weeks after surgery to be the hardest. I was full of uncertainties and even a little regret. Not to mention it was difficult to stay on that Pre-op diet! But put it in perspective. One month out of your life is nothing compared to the lifetime of wonderful change ahead for you. Try to focus on anything and everything...but food. Get busy with life...not food. You can do this. And suddenly 9 weeks pass and you realize that you weigh less right this minute than you have in over a decade. That's my story and I'm sticking to it...:-)
  7. It's been a lot of years since I've seen the 100's. This sleeve is really working for me. Sometimes I can't believe it's true...but I'm losing! Yeah...I'm still struggling with getting in all my fluids and Proteins. I don't get in my supplements the way I'm supposed to. It's been sometimes difficult...but mostly this has been a great adventure. I was sleeved on 2/22/13. Highest weight was 256. Surgery weight was 239. Current weight 199. NO REGRETS!!!!

    199 today...wow!

Sadly, I have not done much exercising. I've tried to increase my walking, run up and down the stairs at home, and I work full time. Really need to add some formal exercise to start toning.

  12. Great post...keep up the fantastic job!
  13. WLS has its own lingo...who knew? I've been able to figure out most of it...but not sure what a slider food is. Is it different for everyone? I'm 8 weeks out and can only eat about 2-3 ounces of any food I've tried....even jello! What constitutes a slider? 'Splain it to me...please.

    Last Supper Syndrome?

I described it as my "last hurrah"...and enjoyed lots of old favorites right up to the moment I started my Pre-op diet. No regrets.

    real Food

I go for grocery stores with hot food bars. Whole Foods and Wegmanns have literally hundreds of selections...you can buy as much or as little as you want. I can buy 2-3 ounces of food...mostly protein and enjoy a meal. Both of these stores also have nice eat-in areas.

    Im so sad smh

I agree...be strong. Do this for you and you alone. You have the power...and soon the tool...to be successful. Hang in there.

    What is a slider?

Thanks....this totally helps. The only thing I've had that fits this category is some thin triscuits. I found they triggered a "eat more" response.

    My wife is pissed!

    Too funny Macy6...lol
  21. I'm 8 weeks post-op tomorrow. I've lost 50 pounds from my highest weight last November (right after Thanksgving!). And in the last 24 hours I've had 3 NSVs. 1. I have an important job interview tomorrow so went looking for a new outfit. I was able to purchase off the rack in the regular ladies department...not plus sizes. That was huge...haven't done that in years. 2. I'm wearing a belt that didn't fit around my waist in January...and I'm already adjusting it to the 4th hole. So even though I can't always see a difference in my appearance...it's happening! 3. And my last NSV...I'm getting my neck back!!! You ladies know what I mean. I put on a necklace today that I have avoided wearing because it just felt too tight. Today it is laying perfectly around my much slender neck and falls to the perfect position on my chest. Loving life after my sleeve. Just wanted to share.

Words that should be banned from VST

I nominate the word "slider"...I mean...WTH??? Pre-sleeve they were tasty little burgers. I'm not sure what a slider is post-sleeve but it sure isn't a burger...lol.
  23. I was advised no rice, no bread, no pasta for the first 6 months. They tend to swell in your stomach. I would skip the rice.
  24. I'm a nurse and just over 5 weeks post-op. During my hospital stay, 2 of my nurses and one of my techs had had WLS. They were so encouraging to me and my family. It was a great experience. Go with your heart...you will be fine.
