    Day 4: I think I'm losing it!

You know, we want to most assuredly protect the band that was just placed. Protein is such a satisfying food. I impress upon all - those on liquid - add some kind of liquid protein. There are all kinds of them out there. Add nutmeg or cinnamon for a change. Vanilla and a little nutmeg. Banana with nutmeg. Was a nice change for me during the holidays. It has been found that those that follow the doctors/band rules are the most successful. Keep your eye on the prize and the reason you did the band. C.N.

    December Surgery Dates

Glad day 6 was a turnaround day for you. As I have posted before - that is when I really began to rally. Very interesting about the relationship between anesthesia and recovery time. You are so right - this abdominal surgery was an affront to our bodies and it needs time to heal not only externally - but internally. Merry Christmas C.N.

    Merry Christmas

Wishing all the Dec07 bandsters a very Merry Christmas. What a great gift we've just been given. I know that now that I am 11 days out and 17 lbs gone - things are really looking up and sometimes I think nothing is new with me. What a Christmas present. Peace to all C.N.

    Day 4: I think I'm losing it!

UG you can do this. It will get easier day by day. Think of your band - it can't handle anything but the liquids. I would be making sure I was getting 50-60 g of protein everyday. Isopure found at Vitamin Center and elsewhere contains 40 g/160 cal. I pour it over ice to dilute it a bit. The only flavor I am familiar with is the blue raspberry. It is good. I agree with the warm drink - tea is so good and calming. Good luck. C.N.

    December Surgery Dates

Day 6 was a big turnaround day for me. I felt lightheaded and not quite right up until that time. The gas pains were very troublesome. Still have the shoulder pain. But, read a good post on here that explained it I think. The poster had talked to her doctor about the shoulder pain she was having. Her doctor told her it was diaphragm referred pain. That the brain is perceiving it as shoulder pain. What do you think? C.N.

    December Surgery Dates

I love this - having a December 07 forum. We are in such close stages. Some just banded, and others on preop diets. This is great.
