I love Linda and Katherine! They made this proces so much easier. Dr. Bellanger actually came in on his off day to do my surgery since I am a teacher and hate to miss school. I get to recuperate during Spring Break!
-
I'm also in Prairiville. My surgery was with Dr. Bellanger at Woman's two days ago. I have already dropped five pounds and feel really good! A little nausea and very minimal soreness (the iv spot hurts more than my tummy!) and just trying to get in my Water. I really look forward to getting to know y'all!

I had my surgery two days ago with Dr. Drake Bellanger. He works out of St. Elizabeth in Gonzales, Woman's in Baton Rouge (this is where I had mine), Andrew other in Livingston parish, but I don't know the hospital name. My surgery was super easy, he said, and I had no complications except for nausea from meds and my usual high bp. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. Today I still have some nauseam but cut my pain med dosage in half to reduce that, and it seems to be working.

Any March Sleevers?
JolieBug replied to futuresleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was self-pay, so not an insurance thing. If I'd needed the extra night, I could have had it, but I was up and walking soon and feel pretty good after the nausea subsided. The nurse did say if my bp and nausea weren't better I would have another night, but everything got better once they stopped my heavy pain meds. -
Post op march sleevers
JolieBug replied to gelen's_change's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey y'all! I was sleeved yesterday. The whole operation took only 45 minutes and the surgeon said it was very easy. I spent extra time in recovery with high bp, but it's regulated now. I spent all of last night so sick from the pain pump medicine, though. When I finally convinced the nurses to stop giving it to me and give me something not as strong, the nausea went away. I have a two-story house and my room is upstairs. I've made about 5 trips up and down the stairs to get more Water. I'm able to take in about 3 oz per hour, except when I have to take medicine, then it's only about 1-2 oz. I'm using Isopure blue with blue G2 and it's pretty good! I count that as liquid intake for now. Thanks to all of you in the forum who have prayed for all of us. I hope your surgeries were as smooth as mine! -

any march 25th sleevers

I am scheduled for 7am Monday! Just finishing my house cleaning, had my "last meal," and now am enjoying the cuddle time with my 3-year-old twins. They go to my aunt's tomorrow night and I won't see them again until Wednesday. I'll miss those sweet faces. The doc said no lifting anything over 10 pounds for a month, so it'll be hard, but I've been training them over the last month to climb in and out of their car seats, the tub, etc. My 8-year-old son wants to stay at the hospital overnight with me to take care of me. Sweet boy. I had to explain their policy that he couldn't, so he's planning to be my big helper when I get home. About to pack...I have a purse and that's it! Lol. Toothbrush, dry shampoo, chap stick, face cleaning wipes, minimal makeup, kindle, and two pairs of undies. I'm going in wearing what I'll wear home, a sundress and flip flops. Let's rock liquids tomorrow and may we all please have uneventful surgeries Monday! -

Biggest pre-op mistake: drinking more than normal because it was my last time. Ugh. Glad I'm giving up any form of alcohol from this point out. I know we can drink later (my doc says 3 months) but I don't intend to do so. What were your biggest "Farewell to Food Festival" mistakes? -

Have you called to request zofran? It dissolves under the tongue and helps so so so much when I am nauseous. -

I, too, am on the 25th. Had my psych appointment yesterday and my pre-op blood work, upper GI (ew, Barium swallow!), and nutrition appointments today. I have a binder with specific instructions to follow and am feeling completely ready. I also ordered clear liquid Protein and Vitamins today. I don't have to lose weight or do a liquid diet until the day before, which is just fine with me, because I'm having "Farewell to food Festival" this week. Lol. I'm still making better choices than I was, and am completely ready for this! Good luck everyone! -

Yesterday was awful. Emotions all over, nerves and stress levels on high. Today is much, much better (just ask my man!). Pre-op tomorrow and surgery on the 25th! I feel pretty crappy right now thanks to a farewell to food (and alcohol) festival this evening. Passed the psych eval today...I felt confident and "normal," lol, but that's my "I don't know you so I am just going to show you my well-educated side." Lol. Hope you're all well! Thanks for sharing your stories. The camaraderie of this thread amazes me. I love it. -

Y'all. We post A LOT! Lol. I was trying to continue for BigDaddyJoe, but with all the final exam essays I am grading, I have to admit (difficult to do) that I just can't keep up right now. Anyone able? -
What about naruto style? It's cucumber wrap, so no rice. I love it.

I will send prayers for your strength, patience, and reconfirmation that this was a good choice for you.

Bostonhok, that is ketosis. It is a serious weight-loss phase and good when low-carbing. Have any of you done Ideal Protein? Low carb, low fat, low calorie, high protein. Similar to what we will be on. I lost about 60 pounds in 3 months on that, but gained it right back after being totally burnt out on the limited food. I like that eventually I will be able to eat "normal" food at some point, but that I absolutely will have to stick to the post-op diet. Thoughts? -
I am a single mom to an 8-year-old boy and identical 3-year-old girls. I do have an amazing relationship with a good man, but it's still primarily me and the kids. I'm a bit nervous, but more concerned with being able to do fun things with my kids. My big wake-up was when I was helping my son clean his room and found his "stash" of empty wrappers. I don't want my kids to go through my same problems with food.

I'm on the 25th, too! I'm excited. Most of my coworkers and family know, and most have been very supportive. Those who haven't been super excited for me were more concerned than mean. They just made sure I knew what I was doing and have a good surgeon. I'm in Baton Rouge, LA.
