How do you know when to stop?
JolieBug replied to thundathighsz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Fyre, probably. But not with your full sensation. I love your humor. Normal people can never come up with something witty so quickly. -
My 1 year surgery anniversary is today!

You are fantastic! -
Thanks, Kakaw. After my gumbo I feel good again. So much of this is a mind game. I really felt horrible but when I think about it, I feel worse. When I think positives, I feel better.

How do you know when to stop?

I JUST noticed my runny nose due to fullness. How odd... -
I think sometimes we are like pregnant women! All I wanted was gumbo. So I made some and just ate the juice. Lol!

It showed up in my pre-op but will be checking as often as, um, necessary. Thanks!

Yes to the water, and it's half water, half isopure, so I know I'm getting something. My boobs hurt, too. A lot. So maybe this is just gearing up for a cycle. I have an iud, so don't normally have those. Lol. I forget what it feels like.

We are baseball people, too, but I just bring a route 44 sonic cup full of their ice and chomp chomp. Sipping has always been easy for me, too.

Owowowowow. Sugar free chocolate (1 piece ok about 1-2x a week) does NOT like my new tiny tummy. Ugh. I want the nausea meds. And the cramp meds. And to sleep. Boo this junk, y'all. -
Hey y'all! I have been struggling getting all of my protein in. This morning and yesterday, I put a scoop of protein powder into my RTD shake. I can only drink about 2-3oz at a time (even without the added protein, this was my norm), so I don't feel like I'm giving my body more than it can handle at once, but would like your opinions on this. Thoughts?

You look fantastic! Thanks!

Odd Symptoms Less Than a Week Out
JolieBug replied to KhadijahRose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome to Ketosis! This is the fat-burning phase caused by low carbohydrates in the diet. It gets better, but skin is noticeably dryer (I use Palmer's all over for firming and Clinique on my face 2x daily). You also may sunburn more easily. I do. You crave PB because your main source of energy is Protein, which comes from our diets now. Be sure to get in your recommended amount or you risk losing muscle mass, which can include the heart and other organs. My eyes are dry and I have to use moistening drops and be careful with contacts. Normal. Up your Water if you can. For breath, try altoids smalls. They don't have carbs like regular mints. Hope this helps! -

RTD + Protein Powder?
JolieBug replied to JolieBug's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks. The one I'm mixing into has 42 g. The powder I add has 20 g. I drink this as 3 of my 6 times to eat per day. It totals 340 calories, but I still haven't finished even one. The powder I add does not add thickness. -

Today is day 8 for me, and my first day back at work. I feel great, totally normal. A couple of students asked what was different about me. I am struggling to get in my 3oz of soup right now! It's amazing to me how little I feel like eating, though I do feel "hungry" (more like empty) every 2-3 hours. I eat when I am hungry and stop when I'm not. My "full" feeling comes and right after the last bite I want is a small hiccup, letting me know I'm done. It's great. My lunches and snacks for the week all fit in a gallon size ziploc bag I keep them in 4oz Tupperware containers made for dressing or salad toppings/cheese. -
So didn't realize I posted in the guys' territory. My bad...stepping away from there now.

Yoga and a pedi? Hand it over. J/K. You can be secure in your masculinity. My man loves both, but only when we aren't in our hometown.

How did you not lose you jobs?
JolieBug replied to tamarlarae's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm a teacher, too, and had surgery last Monday. Recovered over Spring Break. I am feeling great and going back tomorrow. So...will you be replaced... Do you have tenure? What are your evaluation scores? Have you met the Compass criteria? When you HAD to be out, what did your sub work look like? We hate to miss because our kids need us, but when necessary, tell your HR person up front why you took the days off. Document it in an email with a read receipt. That way, if you have problems, you can have protection for your job. Best of luck! -
I'm doing fantastic! Yesterday I was so hungry, so I ate until satisfied many times (only like a tablespoon fills me up right now), but lost another 2 pounds this morning! I feel mostly normal, really. I sleep well, eat when hungry, and pretty much do what I was told. I'm down 15.2 pounds this week. Full liquids started for me on day 3, and continue until next Saturday. I'm glad to be going back to work in the morning so I'll stay busy! Hope you do well!

I was sleeved on the 25th and had the exact thing two days ago. It's much better today and I'd forgotten about it until you said something. Don't stress unless they've changed from the normal incisions.

OW. Chicken salad does NOT agree with my sleeve. Cold sweats, nausea, loud complaining from my tiny tummy, and pain. I may just make myself sick to get it the heck out of there. -

I am one week out and struggling to get in my 70-80 g Protein (req. by my nut). I have been using EAS Myoplex Original, but it takes me all day to even get 3/4 of the container in. Yesterday and today, I added a packet of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury. I also mix my Water 1/2 with Isopure and Mio or CL. Since I can only get in about 2 ounces every 2 hours at this point, I don't feel like I'm overloading with protein at one time. Is this okay? Am I harming my recovery or overdoing it? This is just while on full liquids, unless I can't get enough protein from food in the first part of the next stages. The nutritional breakdown of my day is as follows (yes, I am a nerd and plan out and log everything before the day begins): Cal: 395 (I add in some Soup, about 6 oz daily, but it only adds 110 calories, and I don't plan which soup) Fat: 4g Carbs: 16 (3 from Fiber, 4 from sugar) Protein: 75g So main actual question: is it okay to mix Protein powder with a RTD if consumed over the course of the day?

any march 25th sleevers
JolieBug replied to youngtammy50's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How is everyone doing??? I am well, no pain, nausea, etc. I really feel normal, except that I can't eat. I'm dealing with head hunger, but working towards a better me is winning.
