I've struggled with my weight all my life to lose and gradually gain back the weight I lost. In 2008 after working continuously for over 1 year I lost 40 lbs for my daughter's wedding, it took me about 4 years, but I gained it back. Not because I went crazy, just because I was tired of being so strict and "lightened up" a bit. I tried again to lose the weight as I did before, but tore my meniscus in my right knee, then a year later, my left knee exercising and walking in the hills by my home. Then my blood pressure started going up and I could no longer take appetite suppressants. That's when I started menopause and NOTHING I did seemed to help. That's when I started researching other options. I am a PTA (physical therapist assistant) and I work in home health. I have seen first hand what diabetes can do to a person (amputations, organ failure, blindness, wounds that won't heal) and realized that I needed to do something drastic to change my life quick, since diabetes and hypertension run in my family. My operation was 2/25/13 and I am looking forward to sharing my journey and learning from others in this forum. Feel free to contact me by email at CBean92503@aol.com. Just started my new journey and am excited for the future!
