Over 3 months out and skin issues..

I read that it can take up to two years for your skin to fit to your new body... It's also important to keep hydrated, use vitamin E oil, exfoliating skin daily will help promote circulation to the skin which is said to help as well! Just give it some time!

  9. Hello everyone! I am 5 weeks post op and I threw my back out a few days ago, I have been to the chiropractor, taken Tylenol, Ice, used Bengay the whole nine yards.... Nothing seems to be helping! Does anyone know if I can ever take Advil or a type of anti inflammatory? I put a call in to my surgeon but I am awaiting a call back!! Thanks

    Sleeping on your stomach

I am a stomach sleeper as well... I asked my surgeon before surgery cause I knew it would be a struggle for me... He said I could do it as soon as I would like but that it would probably not feel good right away! He was right I tried it on day 3 and it wasn't happening but by day 6 I was good to go! Good Luck
  13. My Dr told me to wait until I was 1 week out! And wait until soft foods to take the calcium chews!
  14. It was my first surgery ever... I was sleeved on feb 13th... I was teriffied and I crude as the wheeled me into the OR... But it was so much easier than I expected! I would do it again in a heart beat! The worst part was the gas pains after surgery my chest and shoulders was very uncomfortable the only thing that helped was walk, walk, walking!!! Other than that the first 2days were the hardest! When you can start drinking just take it slow and sip, sip, sip! Good luck!!!

    Frozen Yogurt Six days out?

I wasn't trying to be judgmental nor was i saying that I will never have any sweets ever again...I hope no one took it that way... I am just saying that this early on in the game its probably a good idea to try change our way of thinking! I was just trying to be encouraging!

    Frozen Yogurt Six days out?

The chubby girl in me want to say go for it....but the healthy girls trying to come out says don't sabotage your self this early on...if you can get thru the first couple of weeks with out. "Cheating" you've got this! Remember we are eating to live now not living to eat!! ????
  19. My insurance wouldn't cover the actual surgery (i had the sleeve) I had a Hiatal hernia as well so my insurance ended up covering part of it so my total out of pocket was $7200! I am from TX as well! If you have heartburn or reflux a lot then you prob have a hernia!
  20. Hi everyone! I am 17 days post op and everything has been pretty smooth sailing so far but over the past few days my skin is so dry and itchy... I now have this fine red rash all over my arms, thighs and stomach! Did anyone experience anything like this and did anything help it! I am getting at least 6-8cups of Water daily and taking fish oil! Thanks for any help! ???? Shelby

    Soft Foods

Even with foods that you normally wouldn't chew much (like beans) you have to chew to thin them out! (That sounds gross I know)

    Soft Foods

It was better than I thought but I learned really quick that I have to eat REALLY slow and I have to chew and keep the food in my mouth until its almost liquid! Keep trying it will get easier! ????
